TRD CF mid-blade: SOLD to GTsRasta

Ok, I've owned the TRD CF mid-blade for 2-3 years now. It's brand new in the box and never been installed. I only opened it when I first got it to inspect that it wasn't damaged at all. It has a 3rd brake light as well. I bought it from Simon (se168us) when he first started making them, but he's no longer a member of this site, and these things are hard to come by regardless. Anyone who has seen Simon's stuff knows that his work is top notch. I'm looking for $250 picked up.

BB lip spoiler SOLD to RaptorGTS

I purchased the BrashBoy lip spoiler from Rey_Vibora's group buy a few months ago for $250 shipped. I never used it, never even opened the package. I'm looking for $220 picked up.

Kaminari OEM styled wing with CF insert. The same wing Bham has.

It's held on with both double sided tape and brackets that attach to the sides of the hatch. You obviously don't see the brackets when they're installed. My buddy has one of these installed on his car and it doesn't budge!

^^^ The Kam OEW wing with the CF insert and the BB spoiler are the only two I would put on my car.

Two questions:

Is the Kam OEM with Carbon fiber still available anywhere? or do you have so find someone selling one?

Anyone have any idea what it costs to have the nipples shaved, holes filled and then the hatch and bb spoiler painted? I love this lip, but just can't justify spending 800 (if thats what it cost) to have it.

We have the same taste. :thumbup:

Invisionautosports.com can still get it, that's where I'm getting mine from. They quoted me at $381.65. Be warned that the Kam wing, although it looks like stock, actually sits 1-2 inches higher than the factory wing. BHam00GT-S did a side by side comparison.

As for the cost of shaving everything in the rear, I can't imagine that costing more than $300. Of course I could be wrong, but I never heard of anyone paying more than that. If I am right though, you're looking at about $500 (including the cost of the lip) when all is said and done.

So it would be pretty close to the same cost for the BB or OEM Kam CF installed huh?

Maybe Ill have to buy your BB spoiler.

Unfortunately it only comes unpainted. Matt (BHam00GT-S) showed me his wing before he got it painted to match his car. It comes in a dull white color, and the CF covers the entire top portion of the wing. It would have to be painted on the sides, back, and the bottom to get the desired effect shown on Kam's website.

If you're interested in the BB lip spoiler Kory we can work out arrangements on meeting up somewhere. Let me know if you're definite about it. ;)

It's not exactly that large to ship haha. Kory I think should buy it, it would look awesome with his lip kit

Joe youre killing me. :( I DO want this.... but Im contemplating another solution... Im thinking of having JUST the roof of my car painted black (as in just the metal panel around the sunroof and the tiny part of the top hatch, NOT the pillars or anything) and then having my stock wing repainted with a black part like the Molly OEM wing.

So it would flow up over the windsheild, over the roof, and down the back window onto the stock wing all in black.... I have a call in for an estimate at the shop I use for paint, so I have to see what this idea will cost before I make up my mind.

Anyone have any thoughts on this idea? Good or bad... Im open for them all.

So I can add this cost, plus having my cars hatch cut, filled and replainted vs the other quote for the black roof and stock wing repainted like the Kam wing. :) Thanks Joe.

It's funny that you mention that paint scheme Kory because when the whole two-tone idea first came about, I planned on doing something very similar to yours. The plan was to repaint the car blue, but leaving the roof portion black, not the pillars or the sides. Essentially just the part where the moonroof is, and the top part of the hatch, just as you mentioned. The only difference between my idea and yours is the wing, I was planning on leaving the TRD wing blue, with the CF middle blade, along with the bottom portion of the hatch remaining blue. Since I have pretty dark tints, the black theme would have flowed from the hatch glass, through the roof, down to the CF hood at the front. But now my plans have completely changed as if you couldn't tell. :gap: But yeah, you definitely get my support for that idea.

Shipping to PA can't be much, but due to it's size I say make it an extra $10 for shipping. So $230 shipped. Which is a good deal IMO, since I don't know of anyone else selling this spoiler brand new for that little. Let me know which route you'll be going with... either way you can't go wrong. :)

Two other things.

1. Is the BB spoiler fiberglass? I hope not.
2. The ONLY thing that I worry about with the roof painting is there are little "ears" on the back pilliar (that point in right in the middle of the tiny part of the hatch) and Im afraid if I paint that black, those little ears will be more noticable. I even contemplated the idea of leaving the little strip of the hatch red so they blend it.
Thoughts on this? I can't make up my mind which would be better. I guess it photoshop time.

I know exactly what you're talking about in regards to the ears. I noticed it when glancing at my car up close and imagining how the paint scheme would look. I too feared that it would bee all too noticable. I scrapped this idea for a while now, but I imagine if you find some pics of an owner with a CF hatch on their car you would be able to see if they will stick out as much as you fear. Either that or the photchop will do the job.

I don't think the spoiler is FG. I think it's FRP (fiber reinforced plastic) like all the authentic JDM body kits. It flexes a bit, unlike FG, which is why I'm assuming this. It's definitely not urethane or ABS plastic as I've seen those composites numerous times. Yeah, I have no problem holding it for you either. Let me know how it goes!

I was thinking the same thing. In all honesty it's going to come down to how it flows from a profile, not top down or anything else. But yeah, I'm sure cost will play the biggest part in the final decision.
