After six weeks of arseing around with this Haltech E6K, I have come to the conclusion that it just can't cope with the complexities of the 1ZZ engine. I spent an evening with the bloke that sold me the unit and we tried pretty much everything to get the car going, whilst we had it running it was extremely rough and just wouldn't run right at all.

So I removed it all this morning and rewired the main ECU back into the car, now all I need is a couple of coil packs to replace the fried ones I already have :( these should be with me on Saturday.

To replace the Haltech I have decided to go with the Apexi S-AFC for now, it should allow enough adjustment to get the idle right and also improve delivery across the range, I think the stock ECU will adjust the timing well enough. The S-AFC should be with me tomorrow so all being well I will have a running car again on Saturday night :) fingers crossed and all that.

Anybody out there with one of these got any pointers for configuration etc then speak up :)

it's pretty straightforward as long as you have a dyno handy, as far as installation goes...remember to cut the stock MAF wire so you'll have two pieces not touching each other.

Got it installed no problem at all, took about half an hour in all :)

Larry - I looked at it but there doesn't seem to be one for our car, am I wrong on this or just misunderstood how it works?
