ok, had a fairly eventful day with the car so i figured i'd post and tell everyone what all's been going on. first of all, i got it back this morning with the new transmission and out of some kind of extremely rare luck, it's not the 2002. don't ask me how, i figured that would be unpossible to do since the old ones are not being made anymore but somehow i have one. however, sorry jamie, but they did keep my trd shifter in there so it looks like it will be a little longer til i get rid of it. i'll still keep you put down for it though. everything with the new tranny feels pretty good, it still seems a little wider and different, but its not nearly as bad as the 2002. 1st is kinda picky about going in to gear and i have to sorta guide it from 2-3 and 4-5, but overall i'm a lot happier than i was expecting to be.
next, we got my hood on today. we also found out we won't be getting the $50 back because of a misunderstanding with the companies. apparently, it's $50 extra to just get a 2 piece hood with detachable scoop and somehow the guy we bought it from translated that into being a bigger scoop. i have my blue raised one on there now and it's not bad so i think it will stay. the install wasn't too difficult, but it did take some screwing with to get it even on both sides. the hood itself pissed me off more once we got it on, apparently that wave in the fibers is more noticable that i first realized. im a bit upset about that so i'm gonna write tc spoiler and see if they can do anything about it. if not, nobody ever buy their stuff.
after that i had more fun with the under car plastics falling out and they caused a huge noise as we were pulling into a pizza restaurant and everyone stared at me, made me feel a bit stupid but oh well. we ghetto rigged it back together and its ok now i think.
and last, i had some guy on a R1 trying to race nearly the whole way home. just a note to anyone that would think about trying, don't do it, it's useless. i refused to take off but he decided to show me about 6 or 7 times how quick that thing would get to probably 120 or so (couldnt really tell, but all i know is he just completely took off everytime but then slowed down to show me again, it was getting kinda old after a while). however, it made me want a bike even more now.
well i think thats about it, sorry for this being so long, i'm sure nobody really cares but i figured i'd post it anyways. guess i'll see everyone this weekend...

The transmission should loosen up a bit as it breaks in. When my car was new the shifter was fairly stiff and it has loosened up a lot. I'm glad to hear you didn't get the 02 one. That sucks about the weave in your hood. I'm sure it isn't as noticable to everyone else though.

Oh yeah, racing a bike with a car is pointless. They have a slight power to weight ratio advantage. They will also be a lot more likely to die if someone pulls out in front of them though.

yea, that bike was ridiculously fast, i hope he didnt think i would actually race him. and yea, i'm really glad i didnt get the other transmission too. only bad thing is mine is still doing this wierd grinding when i let off the gas at high rpms in 1st or 2nd, so i guess that wasnt in the transmission. and the hood problem is pretty bad, i'm definately one to let stuff slide sometime but it's getting to even me way too much. hopefully they'll do something about it, but i hope it wont require me sending this one back and waiting another 2 or 3 months on another new one which will likely be flawed too.

i'll sell you mine michael :). talk to barry, im sure he can make it fit. by the way me and barry got down on about 1 and a half hours of ddr 5th mix at the mall of ga today, it was so much fun. i have to get that one, there are tons of good songs on it. only bad part was we had chinese food before we played, that didnt go well. we gotta go play it at IBA tomorrow too.

Thats weird that its still grinding. I wonder why it would do it just in first and second if it isn't the tranny? Have you had it up high in the other gears and not heard it? I'd be interested out of curiosity to hear it maybe saturday.

dammit!!! i want to play 5th mix so bad. the usual ddr crew wasn't there today? that's odd. when they're there i'm too embarrassed to play. iba is on sucka. oh yeah, i ordered bulbs last night. phillips bluevision. anybody heard about these?

i think it occasionaly had done it in other gears too, but i mainly notice it in the lower ones. it does seem like it's gotten better though, it had been doing it nearly all the time but it only happened a few times today. i'm really confused as to what it could be, and apparently the tech guys at toyota are too (the guy that rode in it with me had no clue what it was).

Those lights look cool Cody! The front bumper is fugly though. I have seen a WRX up by the Mall of Georgia a few times with a kit and wheel and probably tons of other stuff that looked really nice.

cool, im all about some more ddr tomorrow. i need to practice though, i was screwing up some pretty easy stuff today. i did take down dynamite rave on trick though, thats still a fun one. era and healing vision are awesome too. and yea, that car is differnet, i just really like those lights. i will admit to the front bumper being a bit odd looking, somebody should try it with a different one on it. but s15 lights are cool on nearly anything to me.

It is possible it is just harder to hear or its not as loud when everything is spinning faster at higher speeds. I wonder if it could be a dif related problem. Did that stay with the new tranny or is that new too? I'm just guessing, I would like to hear it though.

i think you would still be able to hear it in higher gears. it seems to only do it at slower speeds too. it's a little unpredictable about when it will do it but i had it down for a while. i can probably get it to do it again if you wanna ride around this weekend and see what you think on it. and i really dont know what stayed or left with the stuff, all they told me and wrote up was "new transmission". i think im going to bed now too, i have to get up in a few hours :(.

A month ago. It must be a Phase Seven thing. I need to call him and find out if he's heard anything new. Last he said was it was on its way and it should have been here last week. If they don't come soon I might just get my money back and get the Hotchkis springs or something.

Hey Cody, cool about your car, sucks about your hood and my car has the same noise at low speeds in low gears. Mine didn't start this noise until they replaced my belt tensioner. I think it's the bearings in it. I've had it checked since then and they said it was fine but I still think that's what it is. It's like once the torque of the motor is released (letting off the gas), the bearings rattle or something. Just my opinion on it.

Well eveyone bad news or good news depending on your prospective, My sister IMed me here at work today and is calling in a favor she needs help with grass spig's in her back pasture, she asked me to come up tonight so we can start working on it early I exepect it to take about 5 -6 hours she is thinking 8 -10, So I don't think I will be home for Barett, I may stay there until Sunday if we don't finish tomorrow,

On a side note I am getting a new cell phone tonight it will be the same number but mine doesn't recieve calls anymore so I am getting the Motorola V60, It looks pretty nice and has gotten some good reviews,
