I think it is one of the better ones according to clint's butt dyno and My friend Lee is running the system on his turbo civic. They both seem to like it alot. Josh did not like his thermal and i hate the way they set it up. It was a bitch to help josh jack his car up. That stupid piping is right in the way.
I have a custom piped n1 exhaust for $150 if you want it. I am not out to make money when it concerns fellow toyota enthusiasts so you can have it for what i paid for it.
Welcome to the boards...

Well I still have the stock exhaust on my car. So I can't help with that question. But I have chosen to go with the Blitz Nur-Spec. It should be in tomorrow. :) But From what I hear the Tanabe is good. But QWKsilvr808 can tell you the difference about the Tanabe and Blitz he had them both and samikaze can tell you the difference between the TRD and Blitz cause he had them both.
Oh and welcome to the borads. :D Now for the usual questions. What part of hawaii you from and what kind of Celica do you drive? any Mods yet? How did you find out about the boards?

hey you guys in hawaii can probably get the fujitsubo exhaust for cheaper than we did... it took us 16 weeks and 1400 dollars to get that exhaust into the country... give it a shot.. you might be able to get it for 1000... its a great great great exhaust.. perfect welds and an incredible muffler app.

$1400 for an exhaust system??? that's crazy dude!!
twigz...first of all, welcome to the boards! as for your question....i have the TRD sport exhaust and i love it! it's a perfect compliment to the Injen CAI....and of course, can't beat the design...TRD baby

That's the price you have to pay to be the man Delo. ;) Yep I think the Fujitsubo exhaust is the shyt too... you're right GTS LAID, I remember getting a pretty good quote for it. Too bad you don't live in Hawaii!
Stay away from the Thermal exhaust. Josh's car is equipped with an AEM cai, S-AFC and that exhaust and he put out 10 hp less than my after tuning on the same dyno. We have the dyno sheets, with James', mine, and Josh's output all graphed on one sheet. The different CAIs aside, I think the exhaust was choking his car up a bit... I can't find another explanation. James' car and mine put out similar #s, with mine putting out a few more hp throughout the powerband, and he was running a custom N/A N1 setup with Injen CAI. I'm equipped with TRM, Injen CAI, and tuned S-AFC. Buying the N1 exhaust from Sean is about the best deal you're gonna get, and it should work pretty well. It came off another Celica. ;)
Many ppl say that there is no difference in power between exhausts for our cars, but I can tell you that there definitely is. I'm not sure why the differences are there, but they are. My trap speeds don't lie. I've swapped exhausts three times, and I'm gonna stick with what works already.
Of course, if you can afford something exotic, GTS LAID is correct... that would be highly unique.

A $1,000+ exhaust system?!? WTF? Man, no matter how you put it, that's a rip off for a plain axle-back system. The only way I'd ever pay 1K for an exhaust system is if it's like the WRX's, downpipe and all. But for the Celica, man you know you're paying for just "looks" at some point. And perfect welds dont necessarily = great performance.

hhehehe... i'll post the dynos for you guys only... see you in 7 hours...
unfortunately sometimes we have to get ripped off for high quality parts... having a friend who's doing his integra with mugen and spoon parts kinda raises the playing field... lol
dont get so upset... i was shocked that i paid that much too...

I remember talking with VVTL-i Powered 1 about this too GTS LAID... where he is he has easy access to Fujitsubo products, but can't get the TRM/TSRM!! I'm trying to help him get one shipped over there, and I was thinking of trying to get him to ship one of those here. If I remember correctly shipping was about $150.
Btw guys, I was talking with Josh last night. He was telling me that if he ends up getting stationed in Australia or europe, he'll be able to mail us JDM part easily! That should be the bomb!

wait is it the legalis R or the super R I like the super R sort of but the regular legalis R doesnt look to sporty it looks like the difference between the trm and the thm
just my oppinion though, and what kind of power gains would we hope for in something like that
GTS LAID
05-11-2002, 02:52 AM
out of this exhaust you expect to see 5-6% gains... 7-10 hp at the wheels.
Kaizer-Souze
05-11-2002, 03:06 AM
how is that compared to the trm, is it worth the money besides the fact that you would be original, and also I am not completely sure yet but i know guys at my highschool that live in japan cause they are coming here to learn english, but anyways he is an avid drifter so he may be able to hook us up with direct shipping of japan spec products and I am not sure but I had him translate the sight and it looks like he can get the super R for like 700 or so dollars but if anyone is interested in getting in on something like this I can ask him just let me know

not too much people in japan were pickin up the fujitsubo, c-one, rs-r, etc. a LOT of people have the TRD. some have the tanabe, and some have the blitz. not sure about the veilside, jun, and other ones...
GTS LAID
05-11-2002, 03:13 AM
i think that if you can get it for 700 then without hesitation go for it...
the reason i got it is b/c i wanted a free flowing exhaust that made stock levels of noise and was of the BEST quality. the fujitsubo is one of few companies that are NISMO standard certified... and its the only one for the celica that's NISMO ... first i was going for the veilside.. but the quality wasnt as high as this...
like i said if you can do 700 thats a really good deal and go for it.

my only problem is that I have just gotten my trm for my new car and it just arrived at the shop last week so i am kind of strapped for cash but if anyone else would like to go through my friend I can ask for you he is a pretty cool guy, he has a nice n/a drift silvia S 14 I think anyways just let me know I have tell may 20th or so to tell him
also what does the nismo certified mean exactly in terms of quality power and such what are the standards to become certified and what does it all mean
Kaizer-Souze
05-11-2002, 11:42 AM
yeah I knew nismo was nissan's version of TRD I just wasnt making the connection cause I wasn't sure why nismo certifies a product for a toyota but ok
as for exhaust is the TRD really better then TRM? I figured TRM has the biggest power gains available right now

05-11-2002, 12:11 PM
hehe... whoops actually i made a mistake... its JASMA .. not NISMO... all the damn japanese acronyms...

05-11-2002, 05:38 PM
ok i guess that sounds right but what does jasma mean then
GTS LAID
05-11-2002, 06:38 PM
i dont know how to link to the translated page... but if you go to this website:
http://babelfish.altavista.com/tr
and paste this japanese page into the website part
http://www.fujitsubo.co.jp/mc-jasm/
it explains exactly what it means.. etc..
better yet heres the actual jasma page.. you'll need the translator of course...
http://www.jasma.org/
its basically a standard in japan for
1) workmanship
2) power output
3) emissions
so it has strict requirements for each of the above...
1200TT
05-13-2002, 12:45 AM
uhh..everything out of japan should meet Jasma requirements...including Veilside. As for wheels...Japan uses JAWA. Japan Alloy Wheel Assoc....very strict standards.
Turbo is doing a exhaust shoot out for the Celica exhausts with all the exhausts offered over here...it should be out next month or two.
1200TT
05-13-2002, 12:28 PM
oh and the veilside exhaust gained 5.6 hp, and was the lightest of all the systems offered.
