Anyone driving their Celica to Las Vegas this weekend? Just curious. I'm going there myself.

Dude, I won't be there, but you'll be taking the infamous "Swingers" route from L.A. to L.V. -- as Trent says in the movie..."Vegas baby, Vegas!" Love the movie...and I love the city...and women-that's a long story. Put the lockdown on your wallet in the casinos...its a losing proposition...think long-term, think mods.

Hey Karim,

I went to the autox, but I didn't see you or any other celicas. I got there a little after 11am. It was my first autox I've gone to and it was cool. I finally found out what a turbo with BOV sounds like in that RX-7, Man was that bada$$. I guess you probably went to get something to eat cause I thought you said you would be there for most of the morning/afternoon. Oh well, thanks for tellin me where it was going to be at. Lates!

ron i saw your celica, i was working the course at the time or i would've chased after you, i saw your car pulling away, my car was parked at the time since i was in the run group before. Are you talking about the purple and black rx-7, that thing is very sweet it's running around 450hp and has the sweetest suspension ever. He bought it from an ex-national champ.

here's a pic of it

glad you got to check us out you should've called my cell, ah well you didn't get to see my front nifty drifts, it's a good thing you didn't see me driving, i couldn't get my tires to grip all day no matter what I did to the pressure, I think in the morning and afternoon runs combined i took out 9 cones (i also took out like 7 cones on sunday) they were pretty surprised they've never seen a front wheel drive car drift that well (on one run I was drifting through the very open slalom), you should've seen the 2nd run group in the afternoon session it started pouring and veryone was spinning out like crazy. Hope you get a chance to get involved in your region it's a lot of fun. and you see some hecka sweet cars.

Man I cant believe you were there the whole time. Oh well. But that RX7 was bada$$. Makes me want to autox here in L.A., but I dont know where to look and see where they are having them. I had a good time eventhough i was there for 30-50min. Do you have to use your own helmet, or do they give you a loaner?

here's the region list website, find one close to you in there

http://www.scca.org/interactive/regions.html

here's the site for the cal club which is having an event coming up soon

http://www.solo2.com/ if you look in the photos section here that's a silver gts running.

the event is at hollywood park. check out the site for info, they have an 80 entry max for that event so check it out quick. they have loaner helmets that you can use so don't worry about getting your own. If you need anymore info about auto-crossing drop into the auto-x forum on this board and we'll help you out as much as we can. i know al2tkoy runs in some call club events try to hit him up for info too. The people that are doing this for a while are always into helping novice get setup. It's a blast man.

here's some shots of me from this weekend, if you would've came during one of my run times I would've given you a ride man (that invite stands open for any celi owners that come to vegas during an auto-x) heck man I could've gotten you a ride with in that Rx-7 or the sweet yellow vette out there. Allon and Marvin will leave you in awe if you ever get to ride with either of them.

hehe that last picture is from when i entered the turn a tad fast and got on the brakes to late and when I turned the wheels and got on the gas during the drift out my wheels wouldn't catch, hehe it was pretty funny. The aouncer was complimenting my drifting talent. Man it brought around some horrible times but it was a blast.
