So GT is a single, GTS is a double, If I just did the work myself to turn my GT into a dual cam would it be the exact same as a GTS, just be a 5 speed as opposed to a 6 speed? And what would I need to do to put the blitz supercharger in to make it run safely if i have a GT aside from turn it dual cam... or is that idea completely unachevable
Thanks
GT is a double cam, isn't it? You can't turn a 1zz into a 2zz, they are two totally different engines

you have so much to learn newbie.
1st of all
the two engines are 1zz-fe and 2zz-ge
they are BOTH dual overhead cam engines..
2zz (gt-s) has vvt-i on the intake and exhaust cam. you cannot do this yourself. you need to do an engine swap.
i suggest you do a search on what is vvt-i and vvtl-i...
gt-s has 6 speed transmission to keep you in 'lift'
so its ratios are more of a sport type gearing with a 6th gear to keep the rpms low while cruising and also a higher top speed..
you CAN swap transmissions. you can swap engines.
as far as supercharger.. go it installed at a shop. but if you can do it install it and then hook up the piggyback ecu unit that came with the kit. the engine management should be pre programed so its all plug & play.

2zz doesnt have vvt-i on both cams, it has it on the intake cam just like the GT
only difference the GTS has from the GT is the LIFT
both engines have VVT
only GTS has VVTL
you can put the 2zz head onto the 1zz block with heavy machining and alota work to it, has been done before in japan (crazy ****ers)
you need to learn more about your engine
your better off doing a 2zz swap

You can't turn a 1ZZ twincam/single lift lobe head into a tincam/ dual lobe like the 2ZZ. Period.

^^^ :rimshot:
If you were to atempt this you would be better of just trading in for a gts. It would be less time consuming and probably about same cost unless you happen to get luck and get a 2zz cheap.

didn't Boosted just make a huge post they intend to sticky in performance mods describing in great detail with big pictures how you cannot combine a 2zz head and a 1zz block??
