anyone purchased an extended service contract??

i'm thinking about getting an extended warranty... my GTS has about 2000 miles left on the factory warranty, but am looking into getting an "extended new car warranty" for it.

anyone have a good place to go? Prices?

I don't think a lot of people on this board would get the extended warranty since they like to fix things by themselves.

I got one when I purchased the car, don't know if you would still qualify for it but the Toyota offered extended warranty is a MUCH better deal than just about every aftermarket one I've ever seen.

6 years 75,000 miles for $575 at purchase time.

To be honest I probably shouldn't have done it but it is fully transferable so when I go to sell the car it will be an added bonus, basically a pre-certified used car without the rip-off deductable a certified used usually carries. If I sell the car any time soon I plan to add $500 to the asking price because of it.

I got an extended warranty from warrantydirect.com, 100K/6 years for 1K

yea i got the toyota extra care... 7 years 100K platinum 1995... 7 yr 100K gold 1300

I went with the platinum... now i just threaten them with it whenever they dont feel like doing a warranty repair.

I got the platinum bumper to bumper for $400...it's well worth it...that's if you plan on not voiding your warranty with something like an SAFC.

i bought the platnimum warranty from toyota too....really well worth it....cuz the 36000 miles comes and go like lightning....i'll let u know how well this warranty is this week weds. or thurs. cuz my car is about to be repaired due to blown tranny.....

I got the Extended servce contract but when they replaced the block on my car because it had a porous leak when I brought it in for my 1st oil change, they reimbursed me what I paid for the warrenty. I decided to get it in the 1st place ever since I lost the tranny on my Civic and had to pay 1800 to get it fixed. At least now I have a extended warrenty for free.
