for a first system, you picked some good components and subs. What is the plan with the 2 8"s and the 1 10". Custom box?
since you have so many details, you should start your own celica blog. If I had taken careful notes when I started modding on my car, I would have one huge blog for others to take advantage of. Its just a thought.
Good luck w/ your project. You should probably put some performance stuff on next, before this post gets moved to Audio/Electrical...lol

since you have a gts it has to use premium gas..so im not sure if they provide it or you have to boost it up..but make sure you dont use low grade bc you'll ruin your engine and it would suck to lose a car thats rare in your country.

I made a costum box for the two 8"s and the 10" but Im not gonna have them all playing at the same time !!! I'm fitting a switch so I can pick between the two 8"s or the 10". I can still play them all (If I want to)
do u work for kinway motorsport ?? Coz I think I wanna go for the C-One clutch Kit with the Flywheel ... I already e-mailed some one but I would like to know if this cluch kit is any good ???

ok ... yasterday , they made the box for the subs ...
http://img91.imageshack.us/img91/2771/dscf4682jq9.jpg
Then we made wholes in the front and the back!! The front is where the speakers are going to sit. The back ones are basically windows, you would be able to see inside the box from the back!!
We are going to have neon lights in side the box

No, i dont work for ken(Kinway motorsport). I just help him advertise because he has taken care of me in the past.
C-one clutch kit is pricey. But I haven't ever heard anything bad about c-one and they make a lot of parts. Most people around here prefer the Southbend or RPS clutch and Fidanza flywheel. Since you are overseas, it might end up being easier on you if you just bought thru Kinway, or some other overseas company.
Choosing a good clutch will come from you making a good plan for your car and picking a clutch based on that plan. Now that most of the good parts are out, or coming soon for the celi more people can actually stick to their plans rather than making constant revisions to "the big picture"

I have been looking into the clutch flaywheel combo from southbend. I phoned and they siad they will let me know how much it would cost for the shipping.
but I got the prices for the Hass and the C2Power turbo kits ...
Hass : ~ 4400 US Dollars (with shipping)
C2Power : ~ 3600 US Dollars (with shipping)
I know that you get the Hass kit with the following :
Garrett GT28RS Dual BB Turbo, Turbo Manifold, Downpipe, High Flow Cat, Exhaust, 380cc Factory Style Pencil Injectors, Turbo Coolant Feed/Return Line and Fittings, Turbo Oil Feed/Return Line and Fittings, 2"-2.5" Intercooler Piping, Air to Air Intercooler, Couplers and Reducers, T-Bolt Clamps, Blow Off Valve, Air Filter and MAF, Vacuum Line and Fittings, VDO Boost Gauge, Greddy E-Manag, Various Fasteners, Install Items Etc
and the c2 power with the following :
Garrett GT28RS dual ball bearing turbo preset at 0.4 bar, medium sized intercooler, greddy emanage, harness, with preloaded map, polished stainless steel piping, tubular manifold ,hoses, water and oil lines to turbo and out
gaskets, oil line flange, Sard racing R2D2 Blow off valve and fitting (BOV), Apexi power intake and adapter
still learning about bouth kits and would like to know if I should look into other kit or other foced induction like S/C or even nitros !!!

Its hard to say the Hydra is relatively new but has produced great results on many other cars. the Power FC is proven over time and less expensive, but has less options you might want if you plan on drag racing.

where can I get the RPS clutch and flywheel ?? and is it good ...
another thing is would it be a good idea to get :
- New fly wheel bolts (stock)
- New Release bearing (stock)
- Direct Clutch Line (TRD)
and what is a push rod ? and why some ppl get extended push rod ?
vegeta4ss
08-06-2006, 06:02 AM
RPS is a good combo as well, I'd put them up at the top of the list with Southbend.
Get the ARP flywheel bolts, its not a good idea to reuse the stock ones(if they would even go back in)
Always change throwout bearing while your in there, and the clutch line helps your pedal feel not to be so spoungey. The clutch line is debateable whether it actually helps or is a purely aesthetic mod.
Extended pushrods are used when your clutch is having trouble fully disengaging. It adds that little extra bit which helps the disengagement process. This is about all i know about them tho, so maybe someone can step in and provide more details here

SS Street Series, TZ Series at $425
Fidinza flywheel at $310
so all togather should come up $735 then add another $100 for shipping.
I like this more than RPS, as it should cost me $200 less
BUT ...
is the RPS flywheel better than the fidinza ???
Ryude
08-07-2006, 03:07 PM
Flywheels are flywheels, there are only 2 things you have to consider. You have to decide if you want an aluminum or chromoly flywheel. Aluminum is going to be lighter, meaning better acceleration, but the Chromoly will be alot more durable and can be resurfaced in the future.
I chose the fidanza, weighs 7.5lbs. I believe the RPS flywheel weighs 9.5lbs. You might want to check on that though.

You can get replacement insterts for the RPS as well. The RPS also has the added benefit of never warping due to the segmented design. The center section on the Fidanza tends to warp if the clutch ever gets really hot.

Depends on your application and power level - both companies have many options to choose from. I would advise calling andy at southbend (Andy specifically) and see if he can advise you on whats best based on your intended useage and power level.

I would wait to see the full extent of repairs needed before you spend money on more mods. If you over-revved chances are good that you have some bent exhaust valves

I got the car back from Toyota 2day ... they did a full INSP , they said I only have to change the pump and the drive belt ( not the timming chain ). it sounds a bit crazy but they said its because I shut down the engine as soon as it happened ( with in 5 Sec)...
anyways for now I will change the pump and the belt then get a full INSP and hope everything is ok ....
I will get the MWR main and rob bearings to becuase every1 said I should ...
can some one tell me what are they ???? are they the bearings that hold the camshafts >>> ????
thank you

so that means I would need to take the engine appart if I was to change them ?

Yes, but since your oil pump blew its a good idea to tear down and check for damage anyways.

lol. you one cool homie from the Bahrain!
everythings comming along nice. i really like that flywheel bolt's picture!
good luck, with repairs.
not sure if turbo is best option for you situation though, because of lack of tuners......
maybe you should look into charging or nitrous. i would suggest 50 shot or 75 shot.
and bolt on as much as is possible. or charge, maybe get the blitz since its pretty much plug and play.
but since you got an 2000 gts you could also greddy charge and use the pfc with some of the maps on this site.
either way audio system looks nice.

TRD is owned by Toyota Motor Corp. and their racing history is over 50 years already and they are still very strong in Japan. I think TRD know what we need for our Toyota (performance and safety). Most aftermarket product do not care our Toyota cars because they will not need to take any responsbility if our Toyota get into an accident by using their product, but TRD DOES CARE because our cars is made by Toyota and TRD is 100% under Toyota. I know we modify our cars because we want our cars go faster and faster but dont forget that our life is more important than our speed, so safety always goes first. Our company choosed to become an official TRD dealer because we know TRD has the best quality and their products are the most safest.
Cheers,
Ken

Did you buy the car used? Is toyota paying the warranty work or is that coming out of your pocket? I know some ppl here had warranties voided because of pulleys, I was just wondering if that was the case for you.

He imported it to Bahrain dude - pretty sure its considered a grey market car - warranty is not even remotely possible in that case.

Uhhmm... clutch break in is typically 500 - 750 miles of light driving, as in no hard launches, don't rev it past 4000 rpms, things like that. Basically, just baby the car for the first 500 miles

205/55 won't affect the car much other than the ride depending on the tire you get.

x2, I run one currently. At first I thought it was faster, but it was just a little louder. As time went on I could feel areas where power wasn't like it used to be. I cannot wait to get it out of there for even a ported header or this PPE

You asked how much horsepower to expect, and that's a tricky question. It's really hard to predict the power a build will make. But if I had to take a guess, I would say around 300 whp. Which should be more than you'll ever need.

anyways , this is the latest news , I bought a 2008 MX5 for my wife but offcourse I would be driving it also ... so a second car problem is out the way.
I was going with the basic set up and a Bllitz SC ! but I think its just not enough for me ... I want more
My goal is 300 - 350 HP
I 'm going for the MWR turbo kit with :
mahle pistons
Rods
Rod bearing
main bearing
valves
valve springs
studs
oil pump
fule pump
boost control
gages
koni suspention
sway bars
koyo radiator + hose kit
TRD 160 thermostat
stop tech brake kit ... I have alrady ordered it form JSC speed.
will ordering the rest of stuff from MWR as soon as they replay to me
I stripped the sound system down and will be redoing it ...
I don't know if I would have enough money for some apearance mods ! at laset re-do the seats ...
