Well I had some spare time today so I made a rare stop into Titan motorsports to see what they have to offer in the way of seats. An inquiry about BRIDE racing seats turned up a starting $1200 price tag shipped to Hawaii (for ONE). Yep, that's why I never bother with Titan in Honolulu. Of course I'm not planning on that anytime soon, but I saw a recent advertisement by them in the BNS that said they can get 'em in. I'll stick to Hypers and just let Chad bring them in for me shipped free when I'm ready.

Do you think this would affect your butt dyno Clint? I would think you would probably need to recalibrate. :chuckles:

Geez for that much i think i would have to make it detachable so when i get out of the car i can bring it in the house. I would have to keep it safe and also use it in my room as a chair. Gotta get as much use as possible.

I am prolly gonna get some sparcos later. My friend can get me some awesome deals on them. I am prolly gonna just put one tho. Switch drivers seat to passengers then tony won't have a heart attack when we go to 13 turns again.

clint!!! why?

bride seats in japan are very reasonable, bride seat go for 49,000-69,000 yen which is about $500-$600 which is the same price as sparco or recaro seats. i think titan is charging another $600 for shipping. i am getting a side skirt an exhaust and a rear bumper shipped to me for $400 from japan, and this is with air frieght. i cannot see how a seat that weights 20lbs can be so much in shipping cost.

anyhow i would recommend getting some sparco torinos or recaro's, for two seat you can get them for $1200.

yep exactly what I was saying Alex. I figure they don't think many ppl know shyt and assumed I didn't either. Amazing how bad you can get ripped if you don't know what's going on. I'm sure I can get these for about $800.

As much as I can, I'd like to get parts from Japan. I'm thinking about bringing in that top center console piece where the screen is supposed to be on JDM cars, and making a custom mount for the S-AFC, and a single DIN Defi gauge pod. ;)

that would be cool.
recaro is japanese isnt it? i think theyre the leading car seat manufacturer there. they do anything from child safety seats, to racing ones.

Aren't Recaros German or something? I don't know too much about Recaro seats actually, but I've always had my eye on BRIDE products from back in the day building my CRX. I saw one in a Superstreet mag that I thought was the bomb. I couldn't afford to think about 'em then, but now is a different story. ;)

I'm considering these:

or,

I had thought about a lightweight CF framed bucket, but I really don't wanna lose the ability to recline the seat.

btw, at 83,000 yen, what'd the conversion to U.S. dollars?

wow...they really want people to know it's BRIDE huh? i think it really stands out with all that writing.....not sure if that's what you're going for but if u are, go for it

I'm actually leaning mostly towards the red BRIX seat (the 1st one).

okay good choice....cuz yeah the black one looks really tacky with all that writing

i say, go with the black ones with the bride writing. Thats the color used in all the option videos

The red ones actually have the BRIDE name stitched all the way down the middle too, just like the black ones, but the match is more subtle. I'm leaning more towards the red so that you can actually notice that there's a different seat in the car, rather than it looking like a seat cover or something. ;) BUT.... the black would keep the look much cleaner... hmmm... well, lotsa time to think about it anyways!

I vote for the black ones cause they will keep the theme uniform on the car. Seeing bright red seats would just screw it all up.

Plus the black ones are the traditional bride style. You always see that one in the s14's, ae86's, rx-7's and so on.

More recognized style is always better. or they are gonna think you are sparcos or recaros.

I want a bride seat too...

ok here is the deal with bride seats. this is from a good friend of mine who had seat from sparco, recaro, bride, and momo. he says the brides are very flimsy and poor looking. the upholestry cannot compare to recaro or sparco, the bride material look cheapy and poorly made and he said after a few months of use he can already see the wear on teh bride seat where as in the sparco and recaro lasted much longer and looks very well made with expensive and good materials. also in japan recaros are what everyone wants but is very expensive for the japan guys. if you have a set of recaros its like having a set of bride here.

and also red and blue seat no matter who makes them fades onto your clothes and if you sweat on your a$$ alot then you will have a red a$$ mark on your pants. also the worst color fading happens with tenzo seat, but color fading onto clothes will happen to all seats.

damn, that's good to know! Last thing I want is the color bleeding onto my clothes, I didn't think they did that. Mmm... maybe the thing to go for is the TRD seats?

price seems to be 84,000 yen, brackets are another 14,000 yen. Maybe this is the better way to go!

Like I'm sure Sean would agree, I need them to be Gorilla-proof. ;)
