Gearshift plate rather than leather boot...help

I saw a picture of an interior where the owner had removed his shifter boot and replaced it with one of those slotted plates for each gear. Does anyone know where I could get a second look at something like this? I think the one I saw was polished or chrome, and I am somewhat interested in finding one and somehow changing it to black.

i dont have my new c/f ball knob yet. my current knob looks out of place like that.

I thought you had to use that in combo with the shift boot still. Whered you get that little backing thats under the slotted plate? And what is it?

I have the knob and the felt fabric, now all I need is the plate. It should be here any day now.
