If he's got a 92-95 MR2 Turbo he's probably gonna eat your lunch. That guys makin like 220ish stock and has tons of traction. You can get the 3S-GTE up to like 450/500hp with bolt ons and not even have to go into the bottom end...

The MK2 MR2's (91+) are the only ones that were available in turbo.

And yes, he will beat you. How badly depends on his mods. ;)

ok first of all. they made two difernt versions of the mr2 from 91 to 99. they stopped making the turbo's here in 95 due to bad sales, car got heavier and more expensive. i think it was around 30k in 95. as for the hp on the car. the 91-95 turbo's made 200hp 205 lbs of torque. good for a mid low 14's in the 1/4. now in 96-99 they increased many things on the car. new aero kit sorta, new spoiler in back basically. they made 220hp. and were not sold here, you can get a j-spec engine with the 220hp though if you still want. now i'm not shure but i think that in 98-99 they had around 260hp, again not shure on that. but they ran a good 13.7 stock from 96-99. they also called them mr2 gts's. they had the same rims as the new celica gts's in the year 99. ok to answer your question about if it is fast. there are basicaly two kinds of mrs out there..the ones that are either realy well(great)takin care of..or junky ass ones that are runing not nearly as fast as they are suposed to. any other questions feel free to ask. i think i just about covered some stuff.

If the cars in good shape w/ a good driver its good for low 14's stock. If its high mileage it might only run high 14's low 15's. But he should deffently beat you off the like but the top end of the celica is alot better. I think i should know ;)

Pretty much right on the money....

The turbo model was sold in the U.S. from 91 to 94, only the N/A model in 95, and none after that, although they continued to be produced and sold in other parts of the world, with upgrades to the engine resulting in an extra 45 then 65 HP in Europe and Japan.

The engine can produce 335 hp on about $2200 worth of mods (my sale price, they're about $3000 list), and is capable of producing over 700hp fully built (see: http://www.toyota.co.jp/ms/jgtc/machine/main.html )

It's very easy to get the car into the 12's, but is very difficult to get it into the 11's for some reason....

But anyway, to answer your question, yes, he'll probably beat up on you (but wait till you get FI! :) )

David

So to answer your question, yes, he'll beat you, unless he's drunk or has put diesel in the tank.

I'm not runnin him in a cel, I"m running him in my jetta 1.8T with mods listed in signature. Last time a ran without those mods except the intake was a 15.6@89. the chip should knock off a sec or so or maybe i'm just to optimistic about this. we'll find out in a couple weeks. plus he doesn't know how to drive stick so he'll be learin on this car.
