My friend came down from Tennessee and he has a 97 Civic w/ a few mods. Well, I rode in it and it was all spiffy and stuff. Sounded real nice. Then we went around in my car. With the adrenaline pumping I went through the sharpest turn in Georgia at around 70 (you wouldn't believe this damn turn) and slid sideways. No problem, I've done it before. Well, the car slides the complete other way and I'm bumfuzzled from there. I cut too sharply back out of nervousness and slide off into a ditch :( It didn't do any major damage thanks to the Japanese quality, but it did bend the urethane bumper a small amount. It isn't noticable though

THANK GOD FOR SEATBELTS TOO or we would've both left face prints in the dash!

I hope you learned your lesson. Your lucky there wasn't another car comming. Be damn glad too, cause if there was, we'd be reading about you in the newspaper.

That'll come very soon

What is that butterfly removal? I read about how to do it, but what is it? What exactly happens when you remove it?

Its a little valve in your intake box that opens and closes, a flap actully. Pretty much it restricts air flow and shields off some of the intake sound (the reason its in there is to lower engine noise). When you take it off you should be able to notice a difference in the of VVTL-i. a Little deeper sounding, even at idle. It's real simple too. Go give it a yank! :p
