I'm in the proccess of taking out my engine to rebuild it, first time i have ever attempted anything like this but im making some decent progress.
i just got the right hand side driveshaft out, now im trying to get the left out.. im left in the dark though on how to exactly get it out... i believe it involves prying it out. also the SST in the manual looking like it is a prying tool but im not sure.
How do i get the left hand side driveshaft out? pry it? if so what should i use and where should i wedge it so i dont damage anything? any help would be much appreciated.
edit: manual 2002 celica GT

tell us about your car and transmission first
i would imagine an auto GT is different than a Manual GT-S

This is a good one: "How to remove axle" (http://www.newcelica.org/forums/showthread.php?t=213055)

"Take the 2 big bolts that hold the strut to the hub assembly out, and then take out the 3 17mm fasteners on the bottom of the hub assembly, and remove the ABS wheelspeed sensors and brake caliper from the hubs. Once thats all loose then just take the 2 14mm bolts loose on the beaing support at the middle of the back of the engine and the pass. side will come right out. The drivers side you have to get 2 pry bars and apply force evenly to the back of the inner cv housing, and while pressure is on have someone yank on the axle like a slide hammer. Alternatively you can just push with both pry bars at once and it will pop out"
im stuck here, how much force should this take? how do i get a prybar in there? damn this stinks.
edit: also im not even 100% sure where im supposed to be prying, i was using a screwdriver earlyer and i bent the **** outa the metal that im pretty sure is some kinda seal.
this is what im looking at right now

this is an underview of the driveshaft, and as you can see on the left is where i bent the **** outa the metal, i stopped prying there and started prying in the bigger grove.

this is another angle, how do i get something in there to pry? the only way i can pry is from underneath... what am i missing here?

im in a real sticky situation here because volume 2 just says "using SST tool, remove the driveshaft" and thats it. i have been periodicly been working on getting the driveshaft out for the past 8 hours today, back and forth from the laptop to the car it just wont come out.
