03 Honda Accord

Anybody heard about the '03 Accord coupe? On Temple of Vtec, they said there will be a v6 six speed. Anybody interested? If it's any good I'll be considering about trading in my 00 Celica.

i've seen the Accord Type R in a few euro circuit races that were on speedvision. i want that car.

my friend has a 98 accord and researches them constantly and talked to dealers that said it will have 240 hp plus i've seen that number on a websight somewhere

The Accord V6s are crappy cars in IMHO. The shifts are sloppy and very jerky in the auto, both I4s and V6s. And the almighty VTEC in a V6 is more like BSTEC. VTEC in a larger displacement engine is almost useless. Redline in a Honhuh Accord VTEC V6 is 6800, Redline in a Camry/Solara is 6200. Both are 3.0 V6 engines. Power output is identical, 200HP at the crank.

:werd: :werd: :werd: The accord is a confused car. Its an overweight cross between a family car and a coupe. It is the queen of understeer, and a dull ride. Once again, its people trying to get the race/rice image. They think Honda can do anything, and its startin to piss me off.


The honda guys I like: The ones that buy old hondas, make them fast, and then they serve a purpose

The ones that have a sweet car (like the ITR), take it for what its worth. The ones that are serious tuners.

Honda guys I dont like: Ok, lets jump on the bandwagon, buy a brand new RSX-S, and start talkin about engine swaps (such as the new R engine). Lets put intake and exhaust on the car and think its a beast, and laugh at every other kind of car made. Lets be ignorant to other manufacturers, and DOMESTICS SUCK!, IMPORTS RULE!

I wont just limit that to jonda guys on that last part, as far as being ignorant, that goes for all punks, not just honda punks :p

<--- This was my car before the celi.... complete waste of my money and time. Not pictured were the comptech headers i wasted 1200 on (18whp).... Personally it's trying to be something it's not. Very very luxurious interior and a nice body design. However it's heavy and slow and came with an auto. My best 1/4 with all my mods on that car was a 15.3

That was my first jump on the honda bandwagon. I quickly got off that wagon and headed for my first love (the celica).... I'm a lot happier with that decision. The accord type r they had modified looked cool as hell but was still slow :) :gay: stupid auto. With a 6spd that would really help it out a lot.

Mao- I'd have to disagree with the shifts and such. I felt that it handled the power and all really smoothly..

I think they are sticking with 200 though.... I know that the cl-s finally got a manual tranny... or so i heard so that should be interchangable with the accords because I believe they would match up.

I would never go back to the accord... it was a boat compared to my celi. The handling was no match for my celi's even with all the suspension work i had done to the accord. Thats the final word. Trading the celi for an accord is for pansy ass family pussies... and that would also make you :gay:



I also look at my accord and see nothing but rice :) and I vowed never to do that again.

Have you ever driven a Camry or a Lexus. The Honduh/Acura autos are an attrocity. My garage consists of my cousin's 2001 Honduh Accord EX V6 coupe, my bro's 2001 Acura CL-S auto and my SC'd 2000 Camry V6.

Both the Honduh and the Acura shifts sloppy and jerky as hell, nothing like my Camry. In addition the Honduh auto tranny's are weak as hell. You can SC'd an auto Camry (4-7psi) but not an auto Accord. In addition so many Acura CL-S/TL-S owners are having tranny problems that Acura was forced to do a recall. I think the sloppy jerky shifting has a lot to do with it.

Say it if you will but my car wasn't jerky at all while I had it... you may seem to think that I don't know what I am saying but it wasn't very jerky at all.... it was also fun to drive.

my friend's family leased a v6 accord auto and at the end of the lease, opted for a new camry V6 with nav(bought). i guess that shows u where the qualities at. they now has a v6 camry, a rav4L, and a celica GTS.... cept the gts got all screwed up cuz his sister drove it too much.... went over parking stops and low octane gas was used and whatnot.....

i rode in the accord... it was pretty smooth i guess.... but it was the most boring car i've ever ridden in... my other friends 89 camry provided more driving excitement

the power windows really bugged the heck out of me. it was choppy and slow, wheras the toyota power windows are smooth.

the only hondas i'd evar buy is the S2000, or civic type R (im dreamin haha)

what tests? old honda's with a TYPE-R badge is the only good ones..even the new Type-R's (civic,rsx) are having trouble keeping up with the competition let alone be "top notch"... think about it..japanese won't buy honda's for sports cars unless its a type-R..the rest they know is not intended for sport. yet here in north america we have riceboys in normal civics and accords thinking they are driving god's gift to man.

I never said honda sucked so bad, i said that alot of people try to fit into the new rice rocket image, so they buy the newest honda out, since its born fast ya know. Then they talk about engine swaps etc. Its a brand new car for cryin outloud. I remember goin to an auto show, and these kids (about 16 or so) were lookin at the new SI sayon it was gonna be one of the fastest cars on the road. Its even slower than the older SI. I have no problem with hondas, its just that they have a tendency to attract morons. It may be just as bad here, and thats why I said i am against people that act like every car but theirs is ghey.

I agree 100%. There are a number of Honda guys with a silly "Honda is god" attitude, however there is no shortage of "Toyota is god" stupidity around either. Both are equally silly and laughable to me.:chuckles:
