For the sending unit for my oil pressure sensor, can I just remove (eg not use) the stock sensor so I can install the gauge's sensor on the T or should I get a second to to hook it up?

It's either gonna throw a CEL or cause the car not to function at all. You probably need the sensor there cause its vital..

It actually just light up the light on the cluster. I dont remember if its normally open or closed, you could just disconnect it for a moment and start the car and see if it light up on the cluster, if not you can just remove it if you dont mind not having the light, that I remember it light at about 5psi or something like that in most cases when it lights up the engine is toast.

I disconnected mine and it runs fine. All that is on is the oil light but I plan on taking that bulb out.

I think you are wrong. Cause i am running now without it for weeks. I was leaking oil from my brass T, and i went to take it off it broke!!! I WOULD NEVER USE A BRASS T AGAIN!!!!

I diconected it from the sender, the wires that is. I did not get any lights. I think it is b/c I did it like that before i started the car up again. It is a simple on/off switch.

why not just use a sandwich plate? Inexpensive & easy to install. I paid $40.00 for mine shipped.

FYI if you end up getting the greddy universal one and probably for all, the thread size is 1/8 PT. My local stores down here couldn't find anything so I had to retap mines to 1/8 NPT-27.

Hmm.. thats odd. Most cars I work on will turn off if theres excessively low pressure to save the motor for obvious reasons.. Surprises me that our doesn't sense that. Oh well.. every car is different

I think the reason it does not cause it is a simple on/off switch, soon as it reads low oil it grounds it self, to turn on a light. But if you unplug it there is nothing to ground. I just talked to my local machanic about it.

I welded the sender in the oil pan for temp, I would never use a brass T again. I would get the adapter.

This is the best way to go. Stay away from T Brackets.
