Get DJCHAD cause then if you sell the Celica and get a Mitsu or whatever the plates will still suit the car.
can someone explain how vanity plates work? like i was told that when you get on, theres a monthy or annual charge for them. then i also heard that its just a one time charge

FYI -- In VA vanity plates cost $10 extra per year. If you get a special plate (which there are many of) the cost varies. Some are a one-time fee of $10 to $25. Some are an annual fee of $25 to $35. My personalized college plates cost me $62.50 per year. Not too cheap. But $10 of the annual $35 fee goes the colleges General Scholarship Fund.

You gotta be kidding me you gotta pay to own license plates? Maybe there is some confusion.. in Canada we have to purchase license plate stickers annually. We pay like $63.00 bucks a year and have these stickers that we put in the top right hand corner of the plate that makes your plates valid until the date of your birthday each year when they expire. I am thinking that is what you are probably referring to as well.

Pretty much the same. Well it may be more confusing down here (at least in VA) but I'll try:
When I first get plates, (I'm assuming regular plates here), I pay $26.50 for 1 year. That gives me plates and stickers that expire in 1 year from the month I get them. After that year I have to pay another $26.50. I keep the same plates, I just get a new "year" sticker to put on my plate. Follow me so far. ;)
You could, in theory, get new regular plates every year for the same price as renewing. But they don't usually do that unless your plates are all bent up or something. That's how the fee works. It's the same whether you get new plates or keep your old plates.
The additional fees for either a personalized message, or a special plate, are additional each year.

Ahhh okay well that is quite similar to the regulations that we have here then as well. See when you first get plates there is a cost (unsure). The cost is MUCH higher to purchase vanity (personalized) plates though. In fact the price doubled within the past 2 years for these. (glad I got mine about 3 years ago). Anyways once those are paid for you now own those plates. The only cost after this is your plate renewal sticker each year. This sticker is the same cost whether you have regular plates of personalized plates. The only difference in cost is when you initially obtain the plates.
If you Sport anything related to "TRD," I would make sure you have more than just the exhaust installed. People may confuse you for a fast Celica.
DJChad works well anyways.
