I wanted to put in a cabin air filter for my celica, so I read the installs page on nc.org about doing this. But when I went to look into my glove compartment, I didn't see any plastic knobs on the bottom of the glove box like the installs page said. And the plastic knobs on the upper sides don't seem to want to come off. Is there any way to open the glove box to get to the air filter tray? If anyone knows, I would really appreciate it, thanks.

Dude, it's really simple. There is a plastic knob on both sides of the airbox. Just turn them then pull them out. The glove box will just fall down and you can see the cabin filter from there. Hope it helps.

I had a problem too. The plastic knobs are at the top back not the bottom. They turn towards you about a quarter turn and you may need some pinchers or something if this is your first time. Mine were in there so tight i had to use an adjustable wrench with a cloth so I didn't scrape them up.

So let me get this straight, I turn it towards me. And while I'm turning them towards me, I pull them out? Thanks guys. I tried turning them forward, and they just don't seem to want to pull out. How hard to did you tug on them, for them to come out?

Have never tried but it has been said that Toyota sells them. I made my own from filter material purchased at Home Depot.

Get 3M brand from any hardware or like home store. Use the filters which are made for house-use. They fit perfect also. The ones toyota sells are like 45 US dollars or so. You could get a big size 3M brand filter for like 15 dollars (you can use this about 4 times if you use single layer).
