I'm thinking to port my intake and I need your experience on this.Does it worth it for gains. Also how you know that the job done well from the mechanic. Also is it good mode because I'm thinking to companied with KENT's Cams.

I think you'd likely be better off port-matching the intake maifold to the intake ports on the head...

no-one has ported just teh intake and proven it does anything. *I* would not do it withotu also porting the head and port matching to the head.

GT or GTS? They've got two totally different designs.. Porting a 2ZZ would be weird imo..

Increase the size of the intake or exhaust manifold piping to accomodate more/smoother airflow. Boosted can tell ya all about it.

How difficult is this to do on our 2ZZ? or is it just literally porting where the two meet up?

Theres more to it than that - you need to drill pilot holes for alignment dowels so you can ensure a consistent and exact fit for the two components. It also pays to have the head inlet just teeny bit larger than the gasket opening and the intake manifold outlet.

I've got a 2ZZ in my Corolla but its a Corolla RunX out of Japan, [we only get JDM vehicles here mostly] and am fully aware of the limitations of the engine. I'm really into NA and am thinking of doing all these little "efficiency mods" to help improve overall performance. I'm about to gut my cat tomorr [JDMs only have 1 O2 sensor so lucky me, no CEL] and wanna get my exhaust manifold cleaned up but I'm thinking of getting the intake cleaned up & matched as well [a la Boosted's Recommendation =)]. I'm determined to get the throttle body done too. but should this all help or will i just end up spending more time at the fuel pump?

There is no PowerFC harness for my car and I dont have a clue if the ECM printout i have is the real deal for my car, so a custom harness is too much of a risk for me. An Emanage Ultimate is about all i can do to improve performance, but without controlling LIFT or even tune VVT, all i can do is hope the engine likes the A/F ratio and hope for the best.

All i'm really after a a good mixture of response and performance. Dont wanna highjack teh thread, [sorry if i am] but would a larger throttle body, reduce throttle response?

i thought that even though they dont make a pfc for your car..you could use a wiring harness from a celica to adapt it.

Quite a logical assumption but the issue is the ECM connector layout. I have one, but I dunno if its the right one. There is an autralian site with a few ppl that did the conversation, but they are so tight lipped about the connectors. But such is life.

Brashboys DOES have a PFC for my car with a plug and play harness they developed but its 1700USD, versus 700USD for jsut a PFC for the celica from another source. Opportunity cost does not dictate my purchasing that, so I'm stuck :(

If i could get a certified ECM connector layout, then I would jsut take the plunge and let someone here do a custom harness.

Getting my CAT degutted today ;) hope i spit a flame or two, hehe...
