Trd Lowering Springs

TRD LOWERING SPRINGS for 02 gt-s.. im thinking about getting them... do i need to get anything else with it? (camber..struts..shocks..etc...) and how much does it drop by? and if i just stick with only lowering springs.. wat are the pros/cons? thanks!

you can get just the spring, and you should be fine.

as for the drop, i noticed a 1.5 inch down, all around. i have the struts also, so i dont know if that helps the drop or not. some people notice a 1.2 drop... so im not totally sure. i just measure'd before and after, and it was 1.5. imo, it looks great, dont have to worry about dips in the road, and the ride is sporty...

you wont need a camber kit, struts... only if you want/need them. thats about it.

if i just get trd springs... will it effect my ride? like smooth/bumpy? and will my camber look F***ed up? hmm.. some pictures of a celica that only has trd lowering springs would be nice :)

the spring were design'd to work with the stock struts, so im guessing it wont be bumpy. i havent driven a celica with "just" the spring so im not 100%...

camber... you dont have to worry about that. as long as you get the car align'd, you will have no problems.

you can just get the springs first, and if its to bouncey for ya, get some struts...

Would a dealer charge you up the ass for installation if you purchase the springs from them as well?

um, YES. they told me 560 to install the springs. so i went to the local shop here.....100 dollars. stupid ass toyota. and as for my drop.....um, i dont think i got a 1.5 inch all the way around, but its prolly still settling.

I've got TRD Springs with stock shocks. Ride quality is excellent, not bumpy at all. The back could be dropped another 1/2", but I'm happy overall. I've got WWest kit, no scraping:).

hmm... so stand alone trd lowering springs...=no scrap with trd kit..1.5 in. drop...smooth ride...so basically if i get the trd springs and install them... there will be no difference for my car except the lowered prettiness rit?

That is correct!! You don't need the TRD struts they are just a waste of money. TRD springs don't lower the car enough that you need replacement shocks. It's also not too big of a drop so you don't have to worry about scraping even with a kit. The ride is just as good as stock and you get rid of that 4 x 4 look!

This thread has convinced me to get the TRD springs as well. Anyone know the best place to purchase them? Also, I heard that H&R springs work well with with the OEM struts and lower the car more than the TRDs. Anyone have any opinions on those?

H&R springs have a bigger drop in the front than TRD, but a smaller drop in the back than TRD.

I went with TRD simply because they are still warrantied through your Toyota dealership. (when installed by a Toyota technician of course)
