my girl recently bought a 2000 gt and ive been doing some of the freethings listed in the install guides(nice section btw). but i have 2 questions i would like to see what you guys thought. the first one is when you shift hard in to second the car seems to buck..allmost like traction control is kicking in. im pretty sure she doesnt have tc so i dont know what to think.
second is i dont see a how to guide for removing the seat belt warning lights. kinda annoying when there isnt any one else in the car and its up there blinking away like a jack russle tearrier barking away at the mail man. lol
thanks guys.

well if noone else is in the car, the passenger light shouldnt be blinking. it only goes off when a sensor in the seat feels hat someone is sitting in the seat and the seatbelt is not engaged. if you want to stop that light properly, you would have to take the fabric off the seats or see if you can get to it by removing the seats and going at it from the bottom side. then when you find the sensor... (if you have any basic electrical knowledge whatsoever) try to fix it. I woud imagine that it's just 2 electrical terminals with a sponge or cloth inbetween that when pressure applied (being sat on) completes a circuit and makes that light go on. I've never had that problem so i wouldnt be able to tell you for sure, but check it out and see what you come up with. just dont go pullin your dash and clock out and try to break the led's. you never know what you might mess up.

oh yea..and if you are sitting in the drivers seat...shouldnt you be wearing your seatbelt anyway??

Might be worn/broken engine mounts on the first one. Also, don't shift hard. Only Euro Celicas came with traction control. You'll wreck your tranny really fast.

thanks guys. i think the prob with the seatbelt light on the pass side is a faulty pressure switch..because it kinda blinks on off very irrattic.
also is engine mounts something common with these cars? it now has developed a squeeking and goes away under accell..
thanks again

The rear mount can go out after a while, especially if the car's been launched a lot. The squeaking is probably a worn drive belt/broken belt tensioner. Common problem. Just get a Goodyear Gatorback belt to solve it.
