well let me start from thebegining of the day.
i was geting ready to back out of a parking space. so i put my car in reverse but stupid me i forget to push in the clutch. normaley if i did somthing like that it would make a light grinding sound and it wouldent go in. thiss time it went in and made a loud clang sound like 2 pices of metal hitting. and the car died. so after saying a few nice words. i started it back up and tested out the gears and i drove it fine.

later last night i had a friend of mine put on my CAI. but he f***ed it up. he dident cut aney hoses like in the instructions. and he dident have it come out of the sied by the wheel wheal, but he took off the plastic cover on the botem and cut a hoel in the botem, and the cai sticks out of the botem. hey says he cane make a cover for it when rains come back. thas besieds the point. it is so low it could scrape verry eazy. and suck up ****.

so after that we took it out for a test drive. first and secont gear wer fine but it was harder than before to put it into 3rd. 4th was fine but 5th jut not to seem to be there at all after forcing it like hell. it went in and 6th was fine. he says it has nothing to do with the cai. and i dont see how it would. he says there is probley somthing rong with my linkage. i am still not to shuer what that is, but how could it juts go out like that. i may have some one take a look at it on friday. but if he cant i may be forced to take it into a shop. and if i did how mutch would somthing like that **** cost and how mutch would it cost to put on my cai the right way.
i coud fix the cai myself. but at thiss point i dont want to f*** with my car aney more.
and shoud i be even driving my car aney more.
please aney coments would help even if u do flame me. i dont even caer aney more.
man i never shoud have let a honda pirson f with my car lol

Definitely sounds like the CAI is in the way of the transmission. The shifter linkage is right behind the CAI and below the ECU. Its a few gold colored pieces of metal that move when you move the shifter. Which CAI do you have, BTW?

It isn't difficult to install one. Actually, the hardest part is cutting the plastic in the wheel well to get the CAI through, where your friend messed up. The end with the filter should be inside the bumper, right behind the driver's side fog light.

If you don't want to try to install it yourself, there are loads of NC.org members in CA with CAI's that I'm sure will be willing to help you with it. For now, just try to avoid 3rd and 5th. You'll probably dent the CAI if you keep forcing the tranny into gear.

ok
i got a injen cai
i want to put stock airbox back on but that seems harder than just fixing t cai. but what sucks is that i dont have mutch time during the week to fix it with work and school. and to tell u the truth i dont even want to touch it.... ill go out and look at it more closeley in a min.
ya my friend has it hanging out of the bottem. i knew i shouldent have left him alone.

i want to cry lol

i dont know if u know him but EuGeNiLe GTS said that i might be abel to come down thiss friday.

well i looked at it and shuer enouf it is rubbing. i dont have aneybody to move the gears around right now but i did see the gold thing but it looks like a black tube with a gold nut atached to silver metal is scatching the cai. so when my dad gets home mabey i can have him help me out. but i would still rather have a pirson that has don thiss before fix it.

i might be abel to temperary fix it by ajusting it a couple of inches untill i can get sombody to put it in the right spot.

Yeah, I've spoken to Eugenile before. He's cool. Hopefully he should know how to install it correctly (haven't spoken to him for a while, so I don't know if he has a CAI).

If anything, you can still reinstall the stock airbox without attaching all the hoses. Just put the big black elbow tube in (the one that runs to the engine), put the airbox back in, reconnect the MAFS (black square with wires connected to the CAI), and connect the long tube from the side of the CAI into the top of the airbox. The rest of the hoses that were removed while installing the CAI are basically for the butterfly valve, so they won't cause any problems with the car running.

my dad is a god.
well not that good but he helped me fix up my car.
we put on the cai right where it is spost to go.
well as good as we coud tell.
we cut and mounted everything in the right spots.
one thing that i stll question, is if we shoud put a clamp on the airfilter it self. it seems to be stuck on good enuf without it.

we wer going to take off the bumper put it proved to be to dificult so we just worked in a more cramped space. so now i am just left with making shuer everything is nice and tight. and to put back the scroos and stuff we took off the bumper.

the gears feel just like it did.

the outsied of the cai has scrathes on it, but not to bad.

i wish we jut tried it by ourselves in the first place. well live and learn.

now i need to figuer out how to fix the botem back up.
a replacement might cost an arm and a leg.

now to get a new exsaust lol

thanks

Definitely put a clamp on the air filter. There's always a chance it could fall off, especially if you get into an accident on that side.

Do you still have the pieces from the plastic that your friend cut off? If so, maybe you can use some polyurethane construction adhesive to glue it back on. That stuff will last forever.

Once you know where all the screws, etc. are, taking off the bumber is very easy. 4 screws and a clip on top, 2 screws on the side, 6 under the fog lights, and 4 nuts in the middle. Then all you need is to detach the side marker bulbs. 10 minutes tops.
