Alright guys, got one for ya. The other day I downshifted to 2nd real quick & got on the gas, heard a nice clunk sound from under the car, almost like a rock or something hit the underbody. Did it a couple more times over the course of the next couple days and heard it twice more. Then last night im racing my friends zc CRX, and what do I hear in the hard 1-2 shift, but the same clunk. Wondering what this could be and what I could do to fix it? My car is a 2000 GTS 6spd with 15k miles. And yes, I did rev-match on the downshifts.

LOL yeah it's a coincidence, but i'd hardly call it "cool". If your sound is the same as mine i'd consider it very uncool. Any ideas anyone??

Incidentally, I also hear the same noise every so often, and usually while my car is still cold. For my part, it sounds a bit like some dried tree branch snapping (and yup I've checked for traces of evidence, but nothing to be found).

It is certainly very concerning... I've noticed that noise from 8000 kms of mileage onwards...

Also, does anyone of you notice a pitchy noise coming from the gearbox when its still cold? The pitch goes back to normal shortly, but still, "concerning"...

Hmm, is everyone is having this problem, but nobody is breaking down, maybe its nothing major? Would still be nice to know what it is though!

As far as I know, when you go crazy on the transmission, all cars will do that. I'm not sure what happens mechanically, but I've raced in Civics, Volks's, and my GTS does the same thing when you drop the clutch while racing. Wouldn't worry about it...just don't be surprised if you have to replace clutch, throwout bearing etc in 5000 miles! :)

Had the same problem around 15000 miles dealership said that it was normal. That doesn't sound "normal" to me!
