GT-S Leather seats

I was just wondering if anyone else had little holes in their GT-S leather seats. I haven't seen another celi with these and was wondering why I had em. I don't know if anyone will understand what I mean, but I was just curious.

from what I know about the seats, the earlier models came w/ the perforated (sp?) seats, and later models with the non-perf. I also believe I read somewhere a long time ago that the perforated seats are not real leather; may want to look in that direction. I have the older seats in my car and have never had a problem (cracking, fading, typical leather problems) so I could really care less if the leather is real or not.

The leather seats for the 2000 to 2002 Celica are all leather; in 2003 Toyota switched to leather trimmed seats with perforated vinyl center panels.

The 03'+ leather is much nicer IMO. Stock 00's get annoying quick. Feels like flypaper..

This is wrong cause mine is an 01 and has perforation (which also by this statement would agree w/ my statement that it was switched to leather from non-leather)

Interesting; had not seen that option before. My 03 was listed as leather trimed, and the 01 leather seats I put in my 05 are leather with no perorations.

you are a moron. no, I don't have a picture of my seat, nor am I going to take one for you. you're just going to have to take my word on it. I bought the car w/ 84 miles on it on Nov. 23, 2001. Assume they are not aftermarket.

i would have completely agreed with sickcelica until the new proof. From everyhtign i had seen the 03+ GTS had perferated seats and 00-02 had standard. Now from looking at it the 00-02 it was an option but not an option utilized often. in 03+ it was made a "standard option". Yes they are real leather seats.

The thing abotu not real leather has to deal with the Rear seats. 00-02 rear seats are vinyl not leather. 03+ came with real leather perferated rear seats. Now if u guys with the 00-02 have real leather perferated rear seats as well then the conclusion is:::::

-the standard leather option utilized primarily in 00-02 has no perferations and fake leather rear seats

-Perferated Leather seats are the upgraded option for 00-05 and come with real leather perferated rear seats (that is unless u guys above with 00-02 have non perferated rear seats ) then the new conclusion is: 00-02 perferated option has "pleather" rear seats and 03+ perferated option comes with perferated real leather rear seats

are you one of the people going to the dyno stuff in Tampa in Oct? I was going to suggest, that since you have experienced the difference, you can determine if the seats in my car are real leather (front & back preforated) and put this to rest.

edit: could Toyota honestly sell the pleather seats as leather? like the above, I too, paid for the "leather option"...if it is not in fact leather, I want my $$$ back!!!! Why would they have 4 different options/combinations of leather and pleather for such a low sale vehicle?

i do know that the rear seats in most 00-02's were pleather in the leather optional group. and that in 03+ the leather perferated optional package came with real leather perferated back seats. also i think the non perferated seat option was thrown out in 03+

you said you rears are perferated right? if so then the Temp Conclusion till we compare in person is:

--00-02 basic leather option: plain leather front seats, pleather rear seats
--00-02 Perferated leather upgrade option: perfrated real leather front and back

--03+ no bastic leather option
--03+ Perferated leather option same as 00-02, real front and rear perferated leather seats.

i've got a 2001 gt-s with Perforated leather seats, and it came that way from the factory. Although the material they make them out of is more like a pleather. The only real leather in my car is the redlinegoods ebrake and shift boots.

dealers sometimes contract out to local companies to add the optional leather seats to their vehicles, so it's possible that some celica owners got non-genuine toyota leather seats brand new off the dealer's lot. that could explain some of the inconsistency with the perforation/vinyl/rear seats.

if you look at the invoice it was a dealer installed option which means that it was installed at the dealership so they did contract it out. This is also a region specific option. So some are going to have the leather and others perforated leather depends on where it was originally sent to.
