Get a nylon brush and soak it in some warm water dish soap. Dish soap is best cause it cuts grease pretty well. Use the brush and shake it off pretty well so it doesnt drip on your seats and interior, and then brush the stain slowly as to not rip up the pile of your headliner. Then use a damp clean towel and wipe up the soap. Let dry, and it should clean it off. If it doesnt, repeat until it does. I would be wary of using any harsh cleaners, because the headliner is a soft material and could deteriorate easily.

I just used a damp towel. All the dirt that was on there came off easily.

I would suggest a sponge or clean rag. The headliner is only a fabric covered piece of plastic (fiberboard?) My feeling is that a brush will be too harsh on it.

For any type of fabric cleaning, ESPECIALLY on the headliner, there is no way I would ever suggest using a scrub brush. Tuff Stuff foam cleaner is an amazing and cheap product....spray on, wipe off.....doesnt necessarily get wet enough to make the headliner sag, so that is never a risk/damage factor.
Good luck,
Sunni :)
