for my tint. Phukin cops have nothing better to do I swear. I was doing like 45 up Cobb Parkway this morning on my way to work when a Marietta cop got behind me and thew on his lights. I was like, WTF? I wasn't even doing anything. So he came up to my car and I asked what I did and he said "nothing, I just wanted to check your tint." Which he did and it checked 14% which is the same that it checked last time. Gave me a ticket. GRRRRRR!! Last one for tint cost me $75. This pisses me off. I don't know if I should have it removed or what. I love the way it looks but now it's gonna have cost me $150 not including what I paid to have it done. What do you guys think I should do? This sucks.

See, thing is, just before I got my first ticket for it, I had a cop walk up to me at a gas station and asked me what percent it was because he liked it and wanted to tint his mustang the same. I told him what it was and he was like, cool. Looks good. I wish they'd make up their mind. And about the sticker thing, if your tints too dark and you have a sticker, it wont save you from a ticket. Unless it's truely legal tint of course. My wife's really pissed and wants me to have it taken off but I really don't want to.

I was actually thinking that he was pulling me over cause my tail lights are tinted. He didn't say anything about that. Moron. He also said that I need to take off my TRD licence plate cover cause it covers up my stickers on the bottom too much. I told him that Toyota installed it before I bought the car so it should be legal. He still told me to take it off. I'm not of course.

Man I hope I don't get harressed about my TRD lisence plate frame that is crap, I have never heard of not being able to have a fvcking frame around the plate, If I had the balls I would have asked him if his plate was up to date, I see cop cars all the time with expired tags, Do as I say not as I do, that is just crap, and as for the tint I hate to say it but you may want to get rid of it, I had the tint removed on my Volvo because I did a piss pour job and was getting it professional redone, and they charged me an extra 100 bucks to get the old stuff off, after I had most of it scraped already.

I knew that I was taking a chance when I had it done but damn, two tickets in a year? And yeah, the license plate thing is crap. It does cover up my "Feb" sticker, but you can plainly see the "03" sticker so who give a flip. I might consider having my doors done 35% but when you figure in that the window is tinted from the factory a little, it's still gonna check 29% and I'd get another ticket. Mines tinted 20% but checks 14% because of the factory tint. I can't win. :(

I have 35% and I don't think cops will give you Sh!t about 35 because it doesn't look dark at all, I have never had a cop say crap to me. about it. and the place that I went would only do work that was legal. I have that stick that the young Grasshopper was talking about. :)

Yeah, your probably right but IMO, 35% is a waste cause you can barely tell it's tinted. If I get it done, I'm leaving the 5% on the back windows. Screw em. I've had nearly every car I've ever owned (about 10) tinted 20% or less and have never had one ticket until this year with my Celi. They're profiling me I think.

I don't think there is a limit on back and rear windows just front I think.

damn, that really sucks jamie. i'm not really sure what i'd do though. i had a pretty close call too last night, got pulled over by a cop with his lights off (so technically he shouldn't be able to give me a ticket) for only going like 15 over but he just told me to "please slow down". i was real polite and he just left luckily, but it still scared the crap out of me. i think i'm gonna keep from speeding for a little while now too.

Did you say anything to him about not having his lights on, I think that if I ever get pulled over by a cop with their lights off I would say something, it is written in the laws as a for there saftey type of thing, Not to mention a good lawyer would argue entrapment.

no, i figured i'd just keep my mouth shut as to not piss him off and have him try to get me for something else (neons, bulbs, etc...). i'm not sure if he was even clocking people since right as i drove by him he flipped his headlights on and got up behind me, and then didnt say you were going "x" miles an hour either. probably just trying to scare people, and seeing my blue headlights probably got his attention and i'm guessing i only "looked fast" to him. not even sure if i was going all of 80 (since my speedometer is off about +5) in the 65 so he might not have even bothered for getting me if he knew i wasn't even speeding much. luckily he was nice once he got up to the car but i still didn't enjoy the whole encounter.

Hey at least he let you off, I was on my way home from school last year and cop pulled me over it was poring down rain and I was going down hill on a curvey road and he was coming around the curve as he was passing me he flipped his radar on he claims he got me at 51 but I was only coasting down the hill, acording to state law they can't get you on a hill in the grade of this hill, well he stood there in the rain I was cool as could be with him even made small talk and he still gave me the BS ticket, I had to go to court and show pics of the hill, and where it is written that you can't radar with X % of a grade, the prosecuter said that I can plea not guilty and have to come back in a month or I can pay the fine have the ticket ruduced to 14 over and have it never hit my record so that's what I did what a headache, you are very lucky.

yup, i know how cops can usually get away with near anything so i felt extremely lucky to get out of it. i can think of a few things i'd rather spend my money on right now than a ticket too.

Damn Jamie........ Sorry to hear about that..
I would change the fronts to 35% and get a sticker. That area up there and by the mall is so full of Rice boys now.. I think this is why the cop came down on ya.. He is just looking for any foriegn car that is tinted / lowered / etc.... Cops think that all foreign cars Rice or not.. contain some 16 year old punk looking to race every Corvette, Porche, etc.. they can find. So who looses... We do.. those with nice clean looking foreign cars like ours..
Next time you see him give him the o'l :fawk:
as you :burnout: in front of him... :chuckles:
I am just kidding though... hope it made you smile a little man!!

No kidding when ever I am near my house which is over by Lassiter HS where all the kids where killed over the last few years in Car accidents, when I pass a cop they immediatly turn around and follow me, I can't stand it I even stay around the speed limit and they still turn around. :fawk: them

Thanks Todd, I needed to laugh about it. I don't know if I should do it or wait cause were going to be moving this summer, somewhere between Alpharetta and Buford. Maybe that area won't be as bad. 35% sucks a$$ I don't really want to do it. :(

Jamie,
just drive around with your windows open and roof back all the time and you wont have that problem.. :D:D:D If they ask you to roll up the window to check it.. tell them it is broken.. :D
