There's a case, but no filter. You have to put one in yourself.

Make your own cabin filter ---> http://home.comcast.net/~ricks01/celicacabinfilter.htm

I made my own filter. It's a great place to hide the air freshener.

cabin air filter (http://www.partstrain.com/ShopByDepartment/Air_Filter) is standard for the Matrix but unfortunately they don't have it on the Celica

Too bad. Wonder if they did it for weight saving or cost-cutting, or both :chuckles:
I think I'll make my own too. When bleeding air out of my cooling system, I put the control to outside air, and got some little stones and leaves blown into the cabin.

The dealer will want at least $25 for one on sale. List price is about $36!
Just get a furnace filter and your own. :)

Their only $28.98 at toyota and need to be changed once a year. However most ppl are hella cheap and spend the $5 ghetto rigging one.

I dunno dude, that ghetto filter wasn't bad and you get enough material for several uses.

A filter(any filter) should be changed when dirty, not just one a year.
I change mine at least three times a year and it is always compacted with crap.
Cutting them out of a furnace filter cost me about $3 a filter.

Ok it should be done like twice. Once before spring and once after. The pollen is the main enemy that gets in there

Ummm....no. The dirtier the filter the less air that gets through.
Not true, do a flow test and a somewhat dirty filter and on a brand new filter... you will get the same results. And because of the fact the its a dirty now the dirt and other stuff have to be that much smaller to get through the filter.

Yes a somewhat dirty filter doesn't matter. But if it is just plain dirty it won't be better. It will also be less efficent.

It is suggested to check and examine a cabin air filter every year. It is recommended it change it every 12,000-20,000 or so miles depending on where the car is being driven, if you are driving a lot on dirt roads then yea it won
