My car is plain out stock. I want to get the ingen cai but am concerned about smog legality issues. Is ingen a 50 state carb legal aftermarket add on and does it certify this claim? Just would like to know so that if and when I do get the cai, I don't have to switch it out the cai with the stock airbox when smog testing time comes around?

thanks for you input.

As far as I know, NONE of the aftermarket intakes for the Celica are CARB certified yet. Does this mean that you will not pass? I can't answer that, but if an inspector does an underhood inspection, it may be a hassle at the very least.

yeah I believe that it can be a hassle when it comes to the under the hood inspection. Most places will want a proof of certification or documents that the bolt on parts are smog legal. As far as mufflers/exhausts go....I don't think that's too much of an issue as long as you have a cat, resonator and stuff....

Injen is NOT carb certified. BUT,
You don't have to get smogged in Cali until after the car is 5 years old. (2 hrs of installation for the first 5 years) hmmmm...worth the effort?: You decide!

(Plus you have 5 years to research a shop that will smog modded cars / ie. not fail you on visual)
