Has anyone here ever bought bodywork from Taka Kaira in Japan? If so, how bad was their response time to you faxing in the order? My friend faxed in an order over two weeks ago and they have never responded to him. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Someone I know bought a set of Advan RGs from them and was stoked because he saved a helluva lotta dough by not going thru UPRD. They shipped it to the airport here and he had to pick it up at customs.

I don't know, however, how long the transaction took from start to finish. :(

Holy crap are they slow. My best friend has dropped almost $4000 for an RX-7 bumper, skirts, tail, and hood. He ordered back in December and he finally got everything here. They make you fly everything to the US which is about $500 each time. Expect everything with that company to be real slow. I know that much about the company. I also know that the Knightsports kit he ordered is an equivalent to Veilside in quality.

You should remember Joe. He's the guy that went along with me to HIN in June. He's definitely a patient motha.

I actually ordered my kit back in October, but the thing was that the hood was not yet in production when they offered and sold me the hood. They neglected to email me and notify me of this before confiming my order and charging me for it. I emailed them about a month later to find out where my parts were and they fessed up to the delay. So they're not real good about response. His best bet would be to email them and find out what the hold up is tokuno@takakaira.com . They should have sent him a confirmation email with the shipping info by now. Once that's confirmed you'll have your parts in a matter of a couple days

My girl friend ordered a Varis CF hood and Varis black Aluminuim rear wing from them for my birthday and everything went pretty smoothly. You can email them and ask for a US based sales rep/store if you don't want to deal with them directly. They are pretty slow in the service department though. Prices are good, they repackage some goods to save you money on shipping costs as well.

yeah, sometimes taka kaira will refer you to local shops that do busines with them.
