I have a bunch of good friends in Jap, would it be possible for me to get them to buy the SC and send it to me ?

Nope, different ECU's, I believe.

Hmmmm, I wonder if it would make a big diference unless they re-mapped the ECU for the SC. Which I doubt they would include with the kit anyways.

What I wanna know, if what does the ECU really have to do with the SC? I mean, isn't the job of an SC to just push more air into the engine? and if so, wouldn't an SAFC work?

Guys, here's a quote from nmyeti, one of the more knowledgeable members here, from an old thread about the importance of a tuned ECU with forced induction on a Celica. Fuel delivery, ignition timing, (and may I add cam timing) are important factors that must be altered on a 2zz with forced induction. The stock ECU, even with an S-AFC, would not be able to accomplish most of those changes. Please read this:

The stock ECU and Injectors....
Sorry, but if you do not address these two things, eventually you'll pay for it.
How do you expect the stock ECU and its tiny injectors to compensate for much more air moving through the motor than they ever designed it for? Do you expect that the ECU even or have timing and fuel maps for this type of thing locked away in the little black box? I don't think so...
So what do you do?
Figure out how you want to run boost and then invest in a PEMS type system (parallel engine management system =PEMS) this let

im not sure but i think the kit in UK comes with an ECU, if it does, then why can't we just use the ECU on our celica's and have BOOST!!!!!

cant we just swap ECU's or get it programmed like the JDM ECU?

Yeah, why not just remap it to work with the SC, why do we need a "JSPEC" ECU ? The Jspec ECU is the same as our I am sure, just tuned diferently.

So what shop remaps Celica ECU's? A few people here have looked for one and have found no one. Any ideas, anyone?
