I am looking for help. I have a SMT MR2 spyder which uses the DBW throttle body. I have the brashboy pfc. I can't make the car idle happily below 1300rpm no matter what I do to the timing and fuel base map. The AFR at idle is close to 14.7. Not only is the high idle noisy... I believe that it is causing my SMT to slip the clutch a little too much.
how do I control the throttle possition at idle? I want to close it a some for idle but don't know how.

The ECU controls it - is there any chance your throttle cable is too tight? Also you might want to make sure the coolant temp and RPM aren't reporting to the stock ECU improperly

Explain exactly what happens if you set the idle below 1300? I'm having a very similar problem but with a cable throttle car. Its as if the injectors aren't working properly.

Its different for him though - the SMT spyder has the idle controlled by the DBW throttle plate which I beleive is still ocntrolled by his stock ECU with the brashboy setup

Correct. His temp sensor may be in a less than idea postion. The brashboy smt pfc uses a seperate temp sensor and he made mention on spyderchat about putting it by the radiator? I put the 2zz smt car extra temp sensor in the heater port in the head....
If one of the temp sensors read cool all the time it will never bring the idle down. The 2zz smt car had a bubble around the temp sensor for a bit. It was reading about half the temp of the smt ecu. The idle didn't come down until that sensor's readings came inline with the actualmotor temp. Took it about but the idle came down to 900 with the a/c off.
