I have a question that has been bugging me here lately. My new cd player has an optional Ipod adapter and what I want to know is if using an adapter instead of the FM modulator will provide a video signal out of the Ipod?

I know this may be a dumb question, but I haven't been able to find anything on it yet. Ive got the JVD KD-DV6200 (DVD/CD/MP3/WMA playback, Giga MP3 compatibility, video and audio outputs, etc) The adapter looks like it would go into the cd changer control, which makes me think that would limit it to two audio channels only...BUT, there are such things as dvd changers, and those send out a video and audio signal....

when I play cds in my car I get a nice table of information from the ID3 tag, and I would like if my ipod info would display up like that and if the movies would play across my monitor from the Ipod.

I guess worst case scenario I might lose 50 bucks on the adapter and be pissed that I wasted my time.

if anyone can confirm if this will work let me know

as of now i havent seen an ipod integratio where you can pay the imovies on a video setup in the car. i'm sure it must be done somewhere but the cd-changer method i highly doubt will work. being that it is only looking for audio input. now does the manual on the headunit specifily say that the port will work with dvd changes as well?

JVC does have a dvd changer that can hook to this unit as well. Either way if it doesn't work I guess I'll just have a nice connection to the ipod in the car.

My advice is to go with Dice Electronics. They have a video cradle which allows seamless integration with any video out unit... Follow the link below:

siltan is that what you used in your 1st ipod console? also looking on that site, that is a very cheap cradle and connection. most ipod connectors are 2x that cost

it looks like they have it doing everything I need it to do, but it also says under features "optional video out cradle option coming soon"

so I guess its time to play the waiting game.
