140 hp, 125 lbs of trq, only weighing around 2500lbs. What cars can I expect to compete with a stock GT? My friend has a 2000 SI w/CAI and Exhaust, another friend has a RSX base w/CAI. Do you think i'll be able to compete with the 160 hp vehicles once I mod the Base GT with similar upgrades? What do you guys think?

Well, I've raced a 2000 Civic Si. My car was stock, and his had intake, exhaust. I beat him off the line (GT has slightly more torque than Si [125 comapred to 111 ft/lbs]) but once we hit 3rd gear, we were neck and neck, and then I kinda "forgot" to shift into 4th, lol and we stopped there. My friend so it was cool just to see how it worked out.

GT weighs 2425lbs to be exact. It is lighter than most subcompact cars. If your car is stock and you wanna run against an Si with I/E, it will be a close race depending on drivers. Go get your mods before you race! I've raced a lot of Si and I've lost like three times due to their modding list. I only have a CAI as far as a real performance mod goes and I can hang with a lot of cars. I am not gonna go into details cuz I hate ppl telling me our GT is unbeatable. hehehe go find out for yourself bro.

according to toyota, a 5-speed GT is like 2414 or just low 2400s, the auto GT is just under 2500. the GT-S 6-speed is exactly 2500, and the GT-S auto is 2580.

I got a different question relating to the speed of a 5spd GT.
Is it faster than auto GT-S, thats what i heard. What you guyz think.

Yes the 5speed GT is faster than the auto GT-S in the quartermile. However after the quarter mile, I think the Auto GT-S will actaully catch and pass up the 5speed GT.

I doubt it.

GT is faster off the line and Auto GT-S prolly catch up to em after certain speed. Well this might not be the case for Maelfyn tho... he has the freakiest/fastest GT ever.
Go do your research at www.toyota.com for your specification and weights. Go view reviews forum in here... GT 5 speed weighs 2425lbs or some around there depending on options. yes. GT auto weighs bit more but still lighter than GT-S..

i heard that the gt-s auto and the gt auto, get almost the same time in the 1/4mile. it would be a waste to get a gt-s auto. but i have to agree that after a certain speed, the gt-s would pass the gt up, but that probably wouldnt happen unless your going over 100mph. how fast are the gt auto's compared to the gt manuals??? someone told me you lose like .6sec 0-60, but 2sec in the 1/4 mile??? is this true??

Its all driver. These are the cars Ive beaten with my mods:
Plenty of Si's with I/H/E and maybe more
300ZX N/A with I/H/E/Chip
97 Mustang GT Auto
Integra LS, GS-R with I/H/E and maybe more
Accords V6&4cyl with I/H/E/S-AFC
Celica GT-S TRD filter/TRD exhaust
When it comes to illegal street racing, I personally think its all driver.

I've beaten civic si's except for one, who drove like an idiot, and nearly hit me in a straight line. Total dumbass. I've beaten a mustang 5.0 but it wasn't moddified at all, and even a Honda Prelude VTEC 95. That was a near loss for me. I have a vid too to back it up. Only engine mods are exhaust.

To put an end to this. It is driver's race. Just like what MSR said. I've eaten up cars that MSR have beaten only with my CAI. It all comes down to your skill of driving.

^ I totally agree. Its all based on a the driver. Im running stock right now but I've beaten plenty of CIVIC SI's out there. It depends on how you launch from the line and how you handle your car along the way.
