I imagine this has been questioned before, but have very many people here bought parts of Ebay? Specifically parts that are of a less or no-name brand?

I noticed that the short-shifters are pretty cheap, I personally don't care if it's not by a name brand company, to me it's just a shorter piece of metal for shifting, or am I missing something, perhaps the parts are poor quality or the craftmenship/fitmenship is sub-par?

Well it does help to know about the intakes too, as I've seen a variety of CAI available.

Just get a fidanza, its only $50 and is from a reputable company. I have one in my car and it is by far the best mod I have ever done
In my opinion ss>exhaust>intake

What are the chances of hydrolocking with CAI. Is there a certain CAI that you are less likely to hydrolock with?

Sheesh, still with the hydrolocking. Unless you're planning on using your Celica as an amphibious vehicle, your chances are slim. I had my Celica for 4 years, 3 of them with a CAI, drove through several torrential downpours and even hit some big puddles in that time, and never hydrolocked.

I say, if you're concerned about damage happening because of modding, don't mod.

its weird but whenever i drive through downpours my car boggs alot... i mean it wont go over 3k rmp, and then goes up to 5k rpm and goes down to 3 again back and forth and no gain in speed.... weird.... :furious:

Your intake needs to be fully submerged. I taped off the holes in my wheel well so it doesnt kick up any rain at the filter. Back on the subject of ss's the b&m, fidanza and megan racing ss's are all comprable. There is a sticky here about ss's check it out. I highly recommend the fidanza
