Well Heres the story..
Last year, Cruisefest Nationals drew just over 4,700 cars for its annual show, just shy of a Japanese car show that had 5,300 cars, for the Worlds Largest Car Show Title. This past weekend, The Cruisefest Nationals were held in Hilliard, OH. and drew over 6,700 cars, making it the largest car show on the planet. Its a Cruise Show, with nothing but Beer, Boobs, Beads, and Cars. Kind of Like Mardi Gras meets Nopi.
There were over 30 Celicas in the show, 15 of them members of Team Celica, and we picked up a few more Team members as a result. There were cars of ALL types there, and they had classes for each. We had asked them to make a Celica class since so many Celicas were entering, they agreed, but at some point they forgot to add the class, and as a Result all the toyotas were put into 2 classes, Toyota Mild and Toyota Wild. The Celicas were put into the Toyota Mild Class, and judging from the winners of the Wild Class, it appeared to be crazy lowrider trucks in the Wild Class. There were all kinds of toyotas there, from Supra to Corolla and Matrix to Mr2.
The 1st, 2nd and 3rd place trophys were awarded in a Clean Sweep to 3 Team Celica Members. While we had many cars that deserved a trophy, our whole team worked thier rumps off getting each others cars ready, and we put together a squad that was 2nd to none at this show. We had many nice cars there, and collected tons of compliments throughout the weekend.
1st place went to Nick Dombrowski (1fstgts), who doesnt post very often anymore but has been around for awhile.
2nd place went to Darkduwende who many of you know, and is an active member here at newcelica.
3rd place went to myself.
We put together a great show, and worked hard to represent the Celicas at this huge show, My hat is off to all the fellow members involved.. here are a couple highlight pics..
