Run in with a Celica GTS 6 speed

Well as some of you know. My car is in the shop getting transmission rebuilt. So needless to say I have been driving my brothers GST.

His mods - Greddy Upper Intercooler Piping, Greddy BOV, Port Polish Exhaust Manifold, Boost Controller, and a set of 17 inch Niche Road wheels - Runners.

Well I was cruising down 41 here in Sarasota comming back from the mall when I get behind a Red GTS. I didnt really notice the GTS badge cause it blends in with the red celica pretty good. He guns it from the light so I figure what the hell and punch it too. He's still infront but I think he notices me keeping up behind him. Light turns yellow, going about 75, use the ****ty ass brakes(wish I was in Celica). Didnt really have time to rev or do anything, light turned green, he didnt slip dump or nothing, just took off fast. Had a little bit of a jump on me cause he was rolling, but he continued to pull away slowly. was ahead about 2-3 cars when I stopped. (Busy part of town) I see him pulling into Best Buy, so I follow.

Anyways, he turned out to be a pretty cool guy, didnt know of NewCelica.org so I gave him a heads up on that. And just kinda talked about cars for a bit til he had to jet. I must say tho.. The Celica sure did look pretty sweet :D So a good death! heh.

that gst is slow, i thought they were a litte faster. You should of cranked up the BC.

Thats like calling the GTS Slow. Its a manuel Boost controller btw. and he doesn't have the boost gauge in yet. And hes in Boot camp now so you know. Not like I am gonna pull off to the side of the road and pop the hood and chase after him ;). His cars getting close to 60k, gonna need a turbo rebuild soon. Dont ever call a DSM slow unless its a RS or GS ;P

Suite yourself heh. Yeah I guess so. hes a cheap skate. I would have gotton a Electrical one too. Those are Sweet!. But not my car. I suggest he sells it and gets another one. His Suspension is messed up from a blow out too. Not a very trust worthy car anymore.

u guys need to give respect where respect is due.. a properly driven GST with those mods wil run low 14s.. GTS can be just as fast but callin a car slow like that is just BS.

Well, yeah actully he isnt that bright. He likes to mess things up. Its kinda funny cause some time he just twists it thinking he knows how much boost. But it does have a boost limiter on the stock turbo, so even if he ran to much it would turn off? Or something to that effect. You'd just have to know my brother to understand how typical stuff like that is. But I wouldn't dare call him stupid to his face ;).

And Larry. I wasn't calling GSTs slow, I clearly said my brothers was not running good.

if he bypassed the BCS it would never stop building boost. if he didn't by pass it. he's still only getting 12 psi

alls you need to know is that i have GT2530's w/ 2 blue bottles, one for HP, one for cooling!!:D My second pass on the car went 10.95 @ 128 then i got kicked off for no bar.

HKS FMIC, injectors, HKS intake, RMM downpipe, apexi NI exhaust, HKS GT2530's, 80 wet shot, shot for IC, OS Gilken triple plate clutch, blitz dsbc, greddy bcc, HKS turbo timer, HKS traction control, HKS cam gear (exhaust side), HKS drag battery, i think thats it....:eek:

the funny thing is that i do and its hard for people to beleive that a little 2 stroke can run a mid 12 with 1.4 60'.
