Q: How long is too long to wait for FI to be made for sale to public, especially for the 2ZZ (measure it from 2000-year of 7th gen's release)?

I'm not getting turbo or sc, but just to throw the question out there. I'd like to know what everyone's opinion is. Also, I'm not saying that we shouldn't wait. It's an honest question, b/c I DO think that there's a limit for those hoping to turbocharge the new Celica (admit it, the thought of hooking up a newly styled car was one of the reasons you thought it'd be fun to make the 7th gen Celica a tuner car). Don't exaggerate the time, please, like: "Well, if it hasn't come out 10 years from now..." Chances are a new Celica would be out by then, anyway.

i think it depends on personal taste... chances are if you bought your celica in 2000 and you dont have a FI kit on it then you dont really need an FI kit.. cause with 3 years of waiting if you really needed it you would've gone out and custom done it as some people have....

how long for me to wait... if TRD comes out with one i'll put it on... i like having someone to blame if anything goes wrong. Otherwise I'd wait for a year after the blitz comes out to test reliability/driveability issues.

hey if it makes you feel better I am going to be sort of prtotyping an XS kit, it will be the fourth and last pre production kit, and as for waiting this is my second celica but I got my first at the end of summer 01 and I got my new celica about a month ago. Lastly the turbo should be arriving shortly like within 2-3 weeks I am hoping

Oh, I don't really mind whether or not they ever come out. I'm interested in how much ppl want it. Maybe the question should be more specific: Say that you'd only want to keep the Celica to boost. If you can't find a setup (not custom) by a certain time, then you'd dump the Celica if you can. So how long will you wait if you had to choice to get another turbo car at the end of the waiting time?

Of course those who can't/won't drive another car will have the car for a while, but technically that's not really WAITING for a TC or SC.

According to their web-site, Turbo-Performance in Van Nuys, CA has a T/C Kit for the GT. I've heard it goes for $3,500. Check it out at www.Turbo-Performance.com

Lemme put it this way.

I got rear ended by this lady going about 45 miles an hour, while I was sitting at a stoplight waiting for it to turn green.

I had been sitting there for about two minutes, and she was chatting on her cellphone not paying attention.

BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAM! About a year's worth of physical therapy, chiropractic work, and hopefully, a nice settlement to make up for the HOURS AND HOURS of TIME lost, plus the fact that every time I bend over now, my back fuggin hurts like a mother.

I'm getting a Turbo.
