Well, this is still up for sale. Below is the info. I'm looking for the closest offer to my asking price, if not actually meeting it.
**********
Complete TRIAL 3ZZ-GE Stg. II engine built for F/I. Stg. II means that it uses Carrillo rods to handle the stress of F/I, and to allow one to rev up to 8800 rpm.
I'm assuming most of you know what a 3ZZ-GE engine is - it's a stroked 2ZZ-GE engine, outputting 1998 cc's. No one has ever dyno'd one before, so HP/torque figures remain unknown. However, Jeff (Smaay) is running a similar engine - he can give a good description of the difference in HP and torque. PM him for more info.
Anyway, I'm still breaking it in and will probably finish doing that before I sell it. For some reason, the engine has an oil leak right from around the valve cover. I pulled the valve cover and replaced the gasket and seal packing, but it's still leaking a little now. I really don't know what to do about it right now. I'm not experienced in this area.
The engine is basically brand new. It's got 700 miles on it, with about 800 more to go of the break-in process. I changed the oil at 500, it has another one coming at 1000, and then again at 1500. At that point, it should be switched to synthetic. Every oil change is 10W30. Here's its specs:
Short Block
-Full balance and blueprint of rotating assembly (crank, pistons, sleeves, rods, clutch, flywheel, crank pulley)
-Cryo'd TRIAL crank and TRIAL/Carrillo rods
-I used Wiseco 8.8:1 pistons for F/I. Ceramic coated skirts and tops.
-Darton sleeves
-custom ACL rod bearings
-new Toyota main bearings
-MWR Main Studs kit
-Circuit Worx oil pump gear
Cylindre Head
-Full blueprint with a 5-angle Serdi valve job and new valve seals.
-Supertech valves.
-Eibach EVS valve springs
-MWR Cylindre Head Studs kit
Extras
-Hondata Gen 2 Intake Manifold Gasket
-CHROMEX Powder Coated Intake Manifold
-SF High Flow Fuel Rail
-TRD Thermostat
-Power Enterprises 210 lph fuel pump
-Uninstalled RC 550 cc injectors
Price: Obviously, a crapload of work has gone into this engine. Certainly not cheap. It costs $6000 to buy an engine similar to this from MWR, but there's does not come fully balanced and blueprinted, neither does it output 1998 cc's (a true 2.0 litres). MWR's outputs 1933 cc's (or 1.93 litres).
I'm looking for $6000 - $6500 + shipping.
This is a good price, especially since it's basically brand new, and you won't have to wait for someone to build it for you (I hear MWR takes awhile).
Oh yeah...if someone buys this, I'll send the coveted "3ZZ-GE Tuned by TRIAL" stickers also.

Shipping engines, if packaged by the right people, is actually not that big of a deal. I bought an old 2ZZ back in the day for a project and had it shipped to me, and it worked out great. They're not that heavy, and they are relatively compact.

so if someone were to buy this motor what else would we need to make it work? I'm assuming it won't come with turbo accesories and such.

also what would i need to do to convert it back to N/A. say i wanted to put the normal pistons or high compression ones.

Yeah, this is just for the engine itself. You could run this engine N/A, but with the low comp pistons you won't see its full potential. I would recommend getting a PFC to run it at the very least, and a bit bigger injectors. If you're going to use the turbo, get 550 cc injectors, at least, and the SF fuel rail and the high flow fuel pump.
also what would i need to do to convert it back to N/A. say i wanted to put the normal pistons or high compression ones.
You would need to take it to an engine shop, and I would recommend just going with the Wiseco 12.0:1 pistons that MWR sells. The engine shop can swap them in for you.
Hey Josh are you willing to sell me the Gen2 Hondata Gasket&The CHROMEX intake manifold?
I want to give whoever buys the engine the chance to buy those items with it. If they don't, then we'll see.

but if i were to buy this motor it would come with those extras right?
so technically if i wanted to go NA setup all i would need to do is swap the pistons then run the correct map with the PFC?

Josh, I remember you telling me about all the trouble your SF kit put you through and why you ended up going with this route for the engine. I hope you find someone to buy it.

If you part out Josh just let me know for the two parts I'm interested about.Btw I have already received the parts from you( a week past) can you mail a photo of the TRD strut bar installed to your car because I don't know how to install it?
Thanks

I guess this means I should clarify. The reason I called those pieces above "Extras," is because they are just that - extra pieces that can be purchased in addition with the motor. None of those are entirely necessary for the motor to run (except you will need a high flow fuel pump and larger injectors when you go turbo....but that's something most everyone should get when they buy a turbo kit), they are all just pieces that will make it run better than normal. I would recommend all of them, but I'm a perfectionist.

Well, I went with C2 because of my trouble with SF. I went with this engine because of the sponsorship with TRIAL. And to be unique. And the power :)
Thanks for the best wishes...

Would like to say a very nice engine :).
Questions:
1.) Does it come with wiring etc?
2.) Will it work with stock 2zz ECU or is a PFC a must?
3.) Is the engine daily drive? (Just curious)
4.) How much with turbo?

2.) Will it work with stock 2zz ECU or is a PFC a must?
3.) Is the engine daily drive? (Just curious)
4.) How much with turbo?
1) What do you mean? Like ECU wiring?
2) I've only been running it on the stock ECU for the break-in period, and that's because during that period you're not supposed to go WOT or above 5500 rpm's. So, the stock ECU was able to provide more than enough operating info. On a side note, the engine hasn't thrown any CEL's with the stock ECU.
But TRIAL recommends running it on a PFC (or now the new Hydra). I was going to switch to the PFC when I went to tune the engine, but it still has about 800 miles left of the break-in process.
3) It's perfect for a daily driver (although if you're planning on being N/A, I would switch back to high-comp pistons...12.0:1 Wiseco ones). Honestly, it feels like how the 2ZZ should have been from the factory - it actually has low-end torque.
4) Mmm...the turbo has been up separate for $2700-$2800 + shipping. Here's the info about that sale:
C2 Power GTS Stage II turbo kit
-Basically brand new. About 700 miles on the kit, but I have had to stay below boost the entire time because of breaking in the engine. So the kit is pretty much installed and unused.
-Polished large size C2 Power intercooler and C2 Power piping. The intercooler to throttle body piping needs to be cut and rewelded at a slightly different angle. The shifter mechanism bumps into it otherwise, and you won't be able to engage 5th gear. This has been documented before. It's an inexpensive problem to fix.
-Custom 4-2-1 exhaust manifold, titanium coated. Lifetime warranty against cracking. This cost me $700.
-GT28RS turbo
-C2 Power downpipe
-SARD R2D2 BOV
-High performance T-Bracket clamps for all silicone connections
-All of the normal fittings, hoses, braided hoses, silicone tubes, etc. etc. etc. that come with C2's kit
Price: I'm thinking about it. Maybe like $2700-$2800 or so plus shipping

The pistons are in the engine so I'm not going to take them out to sell them...are you talking about the stock ones? No, I don't have those.
i was talking about the wiseco .if you part out the engine keep me in mind

It's pretty much already spoken for.

I don't think I'm the best person to ask about this. Off the top of my head, you would need to buy:
- a PFC or Hydra EMS
- a 6-speed tranny
- GTS gauges cluster
- GTS exhaust manifold if you aren't going to run this turbo (of course this means you would want to switch to high-comp pistons)
- GTS air box or GTS CAI if you aren't going to run this turbo
- the intake manifold on this engine
- all the fuel stuff (fuel rail, fuel pump, injectors)
-
I would recommend doing a search on 2ZZ swaps
