View Full Version : NHRA Blow Down Tube Question...
To all who have the GenX2 NX kit, did you guys mount the blow down tube?? I cant run at my track unless I hook this sucker up...and by just looking at the tube..I have no clue as to how it would fit.
Have any of you installed the tube at all? If so, any pics?? I want to have an idea as to what to do here....
Thanks!

Er...either way you have to have a blow down tube in order to run at the track.
It's pretty easy, it just mounts on the opposite side of the nitrous port.
Er..once I get some pics, I'll show you. :(
I get where it mounts on the bottle...but, did you have to drill a massive hole in your trunk to allow the tube to go out?! The angle of the tube to me is kind of dumb...but who knows, thats why I need to see pics! lol

Oh..heck ya..it wasn't that big..more like the size of a quarter. But once you fit your carpeting back in there (It doesn't way much and looks better), it fits nice and snug and looks pretty cool.
I've got two holes, one for the nitrous line and one for the blow down tube. I'm not worried about it, there's already like 4 holes in the damn trunk anyways.
I am looking into finding some rubber grommets to put around the tube and line though...
Cool, another question.
How hard is it to remove the bottle with the Tube in there? I am not sure if the tube actually screws on the bottle...or if its held snug in place.
I have the damn thing in the garage...when I installed my kit, damn tube was the first to go on my list of "dont need it installed now". :)
Now that I want to take my car to the track...have to get that bad boy in...!
Thanks for your help man...now take some pics of your setup so we can all see for ourselves! :gap:

I will as soon as I purchase a charger for my digital camera!!!
I left it at my sister's house in Texas..doh!
As for the blowdown tube, yah, I had mine filled up on Sunday with the blow down tube still attached. No problem. It's not that big really, and they need the nitrous port, not the exit port.
It screws into the bottle itself....with an extension. It's easy to remove, but removing it puts wear and tear on that pretty blue tube nut. I don't want to make mine fugly looking, so I leave it on.
I have to really clean the hell outta my car again. It rained yesterday after having a whole week of sunshine. Dammit...Tacoma Weather is nutzoid. It was near 80 on Sunday with clear sunshine, and 50 with LOTSA rain and LOTSA wind.
And today, it was sunny again about 75. WTF?

Better than here, 25 celcius one day and snow the next.
