im a new owner of a 2000 Celica GT and i was wondering if anyone elses Celicas trunk door keeps falling ?
like you would have to hold the door ip to put things in ?
cuz my door doesent stay up or anything and i was wondering if it was the trunk struts that have no more grip left in them ,
so i was wondering is it my struts or is it normal for the Celica trunk doors to do that and everyone elses trunk is like this ?
PLEASE help me so i can fix this problem ASAP

 Yes, that would be worn out shocks. Our hatches stay open.

the fix is new trunk shocks.
also, im guessing since its a 2000 u dont have the trd kit but if if the car does have it on there (put on afterwards of course) then u need more powerful shocks to lift the weight of the trd spoiler.

I have the same problem..i've just upgraded the spoiler to a TRD style, so I will need to upgrade mine as well.

try taking those bolts off the shocks. I purchased shocks but can't install them because I cant get the old ones off.

the shocks should just pop off with a screw driver. They are pretty snug but not bolted I'm almost certain. Look at the new shock it should have a hole at both ends where the small balls on the hatch and the car pop into.
