:D nice feeling.

but after reaching that speed, it doesnt go anymore? is there something wrong with my car? i was driving @ 195km/h (120mph) in 6th gear with my foot to the floor n it felt like it wasnt gonna get any faster. i recently did the tach conversion with the LEDs, could that have somehow affected it? i have an 04' 6spd gt-s

Appreciate the help.

Your speedo must be off, especially since you had to recalibrate it. M/T GT-Ss can go a bit higher than that.

stay out of 6th gear. its only there for fuel savings.

My 05 6-sp GTS can do about 230kph. You may have a calibration problem, or a weight problem (subwoofers, other people in the car?... heavy rims)

I managed to get to like 132 with my 5 speed gt, you should be able to go above 120.. you might need recalibration.

I reached 250km/h (155mph) with my Tsport in sixth at 7700rpm.

120mph for a gts is too slow

you must have had a LOT of flat road or slightly downhill road for that kind of speed.

I experienced the same thing. When I was in 6th, it seemed like the car didn't want to go anymore after 195 km/h. But, if you stay in 5th, it will past that like a breeze.

6th gear is a Piece of shyt!! When I race on the highway and I need to go over 100mph I never go more then 5th gear. I had my 2001 Celica GT upto 135mph my GTS to almost 140mph. They go so don't be afraid to keep it in 5th gear but you shouldnt go that fast anyway. :burnout:

There is from what I was told when I bought my 00 GT-s a difference in the HP. There's about a 15hp difference between a JDM 2zz, & the US 2ZZ. Now when racing, or just letting it fly, I stay in 5th as well.

I've hit in a street race 140MPH in my GT-S, but it's alot different in 5th gear, plus in 5th the lift kicks-in too. Now I have CAI,Apexi exhaust, & weight adjustments, like minus the AC condenser,ect......Vegeta :thumbup:

My friend *HAD* a 98 Supra TT. After a party one night he got on the NJ Turnpike with night vision goggles and maxed at 175 mph in 5th and let off cause he said it was boring by himself and no race. That car was hoooooooooooooked up for about another 2 days after that.

well i need to find out whats up with my CEL first, and this was taped today with the greddy charger on with no dyno/fine tune as of yet.

edit- actually i ended up switchinginto six gear just about 7k in the vid. but still their must be something wrong because the fastest i gone has been between 135-40 before my greddy charge install.

were you flooring that thing elcelica gts? that seems very slow, my car with just bolt ons is way faster.

I doubt it. He proabbly held it on 4th then hit the gas. But i could be wrong.

one of these guys was right..

6th gear has a limit that it will push too.

if you want to exceed that.. youl have to push it in 5th..

and it wont redline for a long time..

115mph seems to be the fastest i can get on 6th.. put in 5th i got it up to 1 35

I have gotten power out of 6th gear. You just don't mention it around here because all the safety flags come out and everyone starts crying about stupidity.

Anyways I can tell you I have pegged the needle past 160 in my gt-s. GPS verified. If you go to 8200 in 5th and stay on it into 6th you can get it around 5500rpms in 6th. I had plenty of room and kept going. Most people complain how the car "dies" in 6th, its because thats the overdrive gear. It's meant for highway cruisibility. However I have been in situations where I can honestly say 5th gear redlining was not fast enough and I used most of 6th gear. It can go and if you do it safely, then more power to you!
