I tried looking everywhere on this board and couldn't find it.
I haven't installed my AEM CAI yet because i want to find out these things....
1- instructions on how to do it and what tools i need
2- Is it worth changing the filter to a K&N or TRD, and how much are they, with cleaner and all.
3- what's the cheapest place to get them, (if it's better than just replacing it every once and a while!)
Thanks

AEM basically uses a K&N cotton-guaze element. So no need to spend extra money.
The cleaning kit costs about $10 at your local auto parts store.

It's pretty easy to install. All you need is a socket wrench, philips- and flat-head screwdrivers, and a sharp knife or strong scissors. I'm not sure if it comes with the intake, but you'll also need filter oil. It helps the air filter filter out dust.

If you ever plan on buying the K&N drop-in filter (just like the TRD), I have one that I'll be willing to sell you for $15 plus whatever shipping is.

When you install your new filter be very careful not to over oil it - it takes a VERY small amount of oil to do the job. Over oil it and your MAF element will get coated and probably set a CEL before too terribly long.

My $.02
I've always used a K&N filter, both in my cars & motorcycle.
I've always been happy with its performance, and how to clean it.
