View Full Version : Dry Flow Filter Cleaning!!

I need to know if its okay to clean this filter with water...its not filthy i just no its dirty and i want to clean it. In the video on there website there final step they put it in water so i know its not going to hurt it i just wanna see if anyone has previously done this. Thanks!!

you need to buy the Dry Flow filter cleaner and degreaser kit... i believe you do put it in water after you apply the degreaser

Water by itself won't do much. Not sure what the official cleaner is made of , but anything that won't damage plastic should work fine. You can probably use stuff like Simple Green, Greased Lightning, or even Dawn to help work the dirt out.

Yeah, I used AEM's cleaner for the Dryflow, followed the directions exactly, and it didn't do sh!t for the filter. It was still black after I cleaned it. I am going back to K&N very shortly.

Just because it's black doesn't mean it's dirty. It could've just been stained. Either way, AEM's dryflow does outflow K&N, especially after cleaning (cotton gauze will shrink, especially if washed in warm/hot water).
