Ok guys, so I got my NX kit and my Genx 2 package. Im putting it into my 2000 Gt tomorrow night. I dont have the mallory window switch yet. I wont have it for my first uses.
But I've got a couple last questions,
1.Should I bring it right to the dyno to get tuned after installation or can I use it right away?
2.I'm thinking that I should probably set it at 35hp to start (do you think that is a good idea or is it possible to go to 50hp?)
3.Im going on the East Coast Run on Friday which is a race from NY to Florida and I've never used Nitrous before. It will be myself and a passenger. The bottle will be placed in the truck where the passenger will be able to open the valve(with a little reaching of course.) So say i make the last turn and there is the finish line a mile ahead and Im neck and neck with another guy can the bottle be opened either at that point or say an hour earlier and left open until its needed?
4.Are there any possible things that normally get overlooked that I should know about in usage or in installation?

If anyone has any suggestions please let me know. I would appreciate it very much.

Thanks Alot,
Alan

a race from NY to florida? That sounds hella tight, but are you just hopping on some highway and going flat out as long as you can? Isn't there a big danger of a ticket there? and more than just 1 ;) Anyways, not sure how the opening of the bottle would work, but I think you can open it at any time, even while driving, then press the button to use it. I know the GT-S goes faster in 5th than 6th cause of wind drag, maybe you should see if you spray the second you shift into 6th from 5th, if you can get into lift in 6th or soemthing, and overcome that wind drag and take your car up to the ECU limiter at 149, or 150 or whatever it is, that'd be cool ;)

well, you can leave the bottle open the whole time. As long as you don't engage the system and have no leaks you'll be fine. Screw a 35hp shot. That's not worth wasting your time. Whenever I buy a kit I'm goin for 60 or more.

I dont know about the GT, but on my GT-S, a 35shot feels hella fast and good. Pulls soooo hard, feels good to actually have a car my passenger's consider "fast". Before they said it was peppy...now, everyone loves the pull... :)

60Shot or more on a GT-S, I hope you plan on doing alot of engine work to get that working properly...**** even 50 is pushing it to some extent!

50 isnt really pushing the GTS to extent.. 75-100 is.. 50 shot on a GTS, well the top end is just insane :)

larry, you think a 75 shot (very sparingly )will hurt a gt badly?

i dont know enough nor does anyone here to be able to answer that ?? for you.. the car simply doesnt have enough people pushing it to know what it can and can not handle.. Id say 75 shot from time to time (not all the time) on a GT would be ok if run properly..

I am sprayin a 75 shot on a gts and still no sign of bad things. oh and it loves to hit th rev. limiter on the 75 shot too... going to go 100 shot as soon as I can get this tranny figured out and fixed good enough to hold the power and still shift before it hits the rev. limiter.

My question is this:

How is it possible for the engine to detonate if you're already mixing nitrous and fuel through the nozzle?

I don't think hitting the rev limiter for a split second before the shift will hurt your engine? Possibly in a dry kit, but after doing some discussion with a few of the guys that use nitrous in here, they didn't seem worried about hitting the rev limiter at all.

This is starting to get to me, I've hit the rev limiter once, and didn't notice any ill effects at all. Nothing, and my spark plugs (the stock ones) are still good. No blackening, no nothing..look just like how they did a few months ago...so I don't know what the deal is...

Hmm....could be some of the info we've been getting is heresy?

becuase of the lack of fuel for the increased air charge if the rev limiter is actually a fuel cut system which i dont think it is..

Basically if its fuel cut then the car wil get no fuel but the air is still accepted into the engine along with the nitrous/fuel and I think thatd be too much..

BUT.. I do believe the rev limiter in the Celica is a ignition cut, not fuel cut in that case I dont think there is anything to worry about..

I have a 55 dry shot on my 2001 GT. It works great. I have only Cold air intake, headers, exhaust, stage 2 clutch, short shifter, and jet performace module. Nothing done internally and the 55 shot handles just fine. I personally think you would be fine to run the wet shot on your celica.

Your special though Mr. Hydra....I don't think his "jet performance module" is up to the task.

I am rebuilding my celica gt and need everything. I need nos kit and turbo kit. As well as internals such as cams and pistons. Let me know what you have. Thanks
