I just recently bought a CAI and wondering how to install it. I tried it the other day, but it seems like the mud-guard on the left side driver is blocking air filter. Do I have to remove the mudguard?

Did you look at the install guides here on the site? They'll show you how to install it.

Do you have a AEM or Injen cai?

The installation is for INJEN. But it doesn't really matter. All you need to do is to remove the stock intake...
Just to let you know. If you look at the top, it says INSTALLS. It goes directly to the installation page.

Thanks for all of your advice guys. I'm sorry I forgot to mention the brand. It's an AEM CAI for 2000 GT-S.

Take off your front bumper and make life easier. You really don't have to, but it helps out a lot.

I will keep this in mind bro! I really want to put it in, but winter is only around the corner. Winter wouldn't hurt unless it rain right?! I heard that the airfilter can suck water into the engine and mess it up.

ah i usually replace my CAI with a Short ram intake for the winter, just cause of snow, salt dibrits and all of the other junk flying out of other peeps vehicles! ... so yeh if you keep it on it'll get pretty dirty quick! .. also depends on how much snow and salt peeps at ur state pour on the free ways!

We only get rains. Hardly any pubbles around though. Thats a great idea to have a short ram for winter backup. Thats not a bad idea.

honestly, the 1-3 hp difference between a CAI and SRI, i dont see it being worth the hassle of having both systems.

Just having one or the other is an improvement over stock.

Especially when you gun it, it sounds awesome. I pass smog twice already with my Injen Intake no problems whatsoever. Definitely a must for stock Celica's. Get a plastic for sale sign at home depot to cover those vent holes on the underwell plastics so water doesn't seep through.

Don't mean to hijack... and i'm sure this is asked 1,001 times...
But are any CAI's better than others? and how in the world can people on eBay sell them for $24.99 when they retail in the $200 range ?!

Because brand names are a rip off.
Think about it.. all it is is an aluminum tube and a 5 dollar filter....
Ebay is your best bet.

Well that's what I though at first. but that's marked up a rediculous amount on brand names... but an aluminum tube is an aluminum tube, right ?

Correct. Ebay intake plus blue bomber mod. Injen style = better high end
aem= better low-midrange.

If you're in a state where they care about aftermarket upgrades, it's very useful to have a CARB sticker.

Used to! But I sold the kit because no money for paint. I need money for flywheel and to get my stuff install into the transmission. Haha funny but some people think it looks darn nice! I'll have my new pix of my car up soon. No more bodykit for me.

end of story. you could probaly retrofit one to go over the front too so that the front of the filter would be covered and all the air would go around and hit the back and the filter would suck it up.

Study it carefully. It's an Invador kit. The front looks just like homebred's (the blue one). The primer just doesn't show that much detail of the kit.

Its veilside Ec1 replica. invader is term used for replicas so they dont get sued :)

Really?! Awww... I see. So the veilside Ec1 must be the genuine. Did it came with perfect fitment already and just need bolt in?! Or did you have to drill holes on them?

also known as Veilside 1 (as opposed to the veilside FFGT know as veilside 2 or replicas:invader2) veilsides are near perfect fit though i dont know if they are predrilled, i think so. still fiberglass though
