Hey whats up i havent been on in a while the car pissed me off. Damn the money that thing cost and still problems. We have also been busy opening our new store in winter springs floirda. Open durring the week now.
Any ways here is a update. Last dyno was 366whp. The pressure plate didnt hold anymore. That will be taken care of as soon as i get the old one out but i figured wait to do the clutch untill the trans blowes. Well first 6th was gone and now when i put it in 5th it stays in gear untill you take your foot off the pedal. That is the trans right. I do have a short shifter but i think that is fine.
What are the options besides going with another stock gts 6 spd trans?
If any body has a built or stock late model gts trans please let me know. Also are the 00 to 06 the same trans?

I'm not sure if the 5 speed is stronger but the c60 has always been weak. With that amount of power I don't think there will be hardly any difference between the 5 and 6, can anyone confirm if the spyder tranny is stronger/different than the celica 5 speed?
You may also want to look into the euro 6 speed..or if you have the funds the c2 tranny will definaltly hold the power..

Why not give C2 a call? I wouldn't waste your money on a stock tranny unless you have the sole intention of building it.

:werd: You're only going to go through trannys like oil changes with that much power to the wheels.. c2 also has better gear ratios.

I just looked on c2powers site and it is EU3,900.00 just for the gear set. I used a currency converter and that came out to 5,001.44 US is that right? That is not even labor thats just the gears. I cant go that way now. The c-one is around $3,000 us
Does anybody have a used one for sale. Or any other ideas or sites.
Thanks

I'd just go c-one then. Just spare yourself the hassle in the long run, because I can guarantee you will run into problems down the road with 366whp.

366whp is not the end it only went that hight because the pressure plate didnt hold but that problem is getting solved. And again the c-one is just for the gears. Does anybody on the board have either trans..

I've driven the C2 in smaays car - its NOT streetable - its a race only dogbox trans. I would go with the C-One - their stuff is usually good.

Yea i was gonna ask how the project for the MR2-Celica tranny was going too. Also the Celica Uses a C60 tranny, since my dad just got the exige I've noticed on elisetalk they call It C64 , is it the same?

Time and money are required and at the moment I don't have enough of either. Basically its going to cost me $5K to develop the trans swap and I just don't have it now. I just dumped all my spare capital into the flowbench parts and the 03+ wire harness project. Plus I spent money on the TX7 and dyno for that and its hasn't really been selling well.

The other issue is I'm going to need a car for quite a while to get the fitment right on the swap, and I don't own a 7th gen at the moment.

So - long and the short of it is that unless I get a huge run on harnesses once they come out the tranny swap is going to have to wait a while. I'm really sorry - I was hoping to be able to do it much sooner - but theres just nothing I can do about it at the moment.

The C-One set is closer geared for racing, it wouldn't be a good street car or DD at all IMO. Also I don't believe its the HP giving the trans the problem, if its jumping out of gear you need to have the tranny torn down and have all the sleeves and blocking rings/syncro's examined. Gear teeth might also be worn

Have you maybe thought of cryo-treating the c60? dunno how much improvement it is or cost, but my buddy cryotreated his Integra tranny and its holding well against the 265whp he is putting down.

Our shop Celica has yet to damage a transmission even running over 400whp and 11-second 1/4 mile passes. With a Quaife and a street disc we have seen no issues with the 6-speed. We plan to make well over 450whp in the next tuning session and I don't expect we'll see transmission issues.

What clutch disc are you running?

One other thing- losing 6th gear sounds pretty unusual. Has that transmission been worked on before?

Good luck with that man, pm the kamispeed.com representative here and get us a quote for a c-one tranny.

Are there any problems with your 2zz stroker yet (besides putting down a ton of power down :chuckles: )?

I got a price from billy at Kamispeed.com they have great prices and the customer service is great. They have some unique stuff. We got the beatrush panel from them and the c-one suspention. I love it.... Even my sparco wheel and many more. But anyways.
Whats up Matt. Yes a few years ago we had the trans rebuild becaues we lost 6th... They replace i think 5th and 6th. And before that it was redone for the syncors or however you spell that. But it grinded going into the lower gears.
Now before 6th speed was gone when we just got the car from the dyno tune if i was going over 100mph it would lock me out of every gear and i would have to wait till i slow down before i can put it in any gear.
And now if i put it in 5th it will go but if i take my foot off the gas it will pop out.
Thanks for any help

$5,000 US is that right? That is not even labor thats just the gears.
No. Mine was about $4000 and Gas shipped a complete tranny to me. No way around it, you're going to have to get one.
