hey guys. i've got a problem with my AC control leds that i got from dooley awhile ago. when i'm driving at night the right side of the ac control flickers. i figured that it was a bad solder connection or something and the vibration was causing it to go on and off but when i leave the engine off and turn on the lights, the led never flickers even though i try to shake the ac control panel. i'm wondering if it's an electrical problem. anybody have any ideas? thanks in advance

if you move the ribbon cable to much it becomes weaker and flickers over time. The green cable that connects the board to the unit. Make sure its all pressed in right and works before you put the console over it

the only time i touched the ribbon cable was when i first installed the leds 6 months ago. ever since then i haven't taken the console apart. plus it's only the passenger side led that is flickering. i'll give that a try though. i'm willing to try anything. haha the flickering is driving me crazy at night while i drive.

Obviously you double checked the soldering right? "jiggled the handle?"

What is the pattern of the flicker??
Random, in a sequence.. etc....

yeah i checked the soldering. usually it'll flicker at a fast steady pace but then it'll stop sometimes and stay on. other times it'll be a slower flicker. usually it's at a steady pace and then it'll stop and change its frequency.

i noticed in the newer post about the ac controls + ac and defrost led package, you were supposed to change two resistors. was that just for the defrost and the ac led's? just wondering if that would have anything to do with it, cause i didn't go for the ac and defrost led's and the resistors.

Does you car has little vibration with engine running??

Those two resistor is for the AC/Defrost button LED, if you go with blue or white color..

yeah my car vibrates a little while it's idling. but when my car is off and i turn on my lights and i tap and shake the control panel a little bit, the leds never flicker.

is it your ac control panel leds that flicker? or is it the ac and defrost leds that flicker? cause i bought the leds from the first gb. but i think i remember you having em before practically everybody. haha. so yours are probably even older.

I noticed this happen's on my '00 GT-S when I have the dial on defrost. I swear I never saw the behavior on my original '00. When I hit the A/C button it stops.
Would love to hear thoughts on this - don't mean to hijack this thread, however. Is this the same problem?

hmm i should try hitting the ac button at night and see if mine does the same thing. i never really use the ac button while the lights are on cause i just usually roll down the windows and enjoy the night air :) haha

I haven't had any issues as of yet, thankfully. Good luck.

well the ac and defrost lights didn't help. maybe something else is loose or something. i'll have to give it another try this weekend. it looks like there is a rave going on in my car or something.

Maybe put your stock bulb back in and check... so that it will answer if the LED is defective....
