i just got done installing ZEX kit on my car, and wondering if I still can have PFC and would my nitrous benefit from it

you can easily tweak the ignition timing using the commander... it's recommended you drop 2 degree of timing while spraying 75 shot.....

yes you can still use a PFC with nitrous and it will benifit you

question is there a nitrous map in the power fc i mean like a real one that will pull tyming and adjust fuel when the bottle is activated ?

No, it doesn't do that.

would the wet-shot compensate for a pfc tuned i/e map? is it really necessary for him to have an overall retarded timing map so whenever he sprays it's alright?

you can make a map for squeezing. and when you are normal driving it will be a little under powered. thats all.

How much safer would that be, when spraying?

thanks for the input, so with the pfc i can retard it so i can boost with the 75 horses

yeah doing it like that is always an option like smaay said you just have to give up some power the rest of the time. which is no big deal when you know the cars safe. basicly its like when you have a car built for the juice the car is always gonna sacrafice the allmotor performance because of the timing also caise of the colder plugs to run the juice.

by retarding ignition -2 through out, I lost about 1-2horsie....... but it significantly reduces knock....

good good, this has been on my mind for so long. when i install my pfc im afraid that i wont be able to boost with my 50 shot because i'd have to get a different tune. but if all i have to do is manually take off 2 degrees, that is fantastic :D
i've heard that the pfc allows for twin maps, so perhaps i can have one proper tuned map for normal driving and then use the second 'safer' map for use on gas, is that correct?
also, ive been thinking, im going to tune the car on 95 octane gas. once the car is fully tuned to its peak, i'll use my usual 98octane fuel. am i right to assume that this higher octance wil give a higher threshold against knock and infact make it safer to runt he car highly tuned and with gas (on the twin map method stated above). sure, im aware that i might not hit the highest dyno figures the could produce on higher rated fuel, but i suppose the extra safety and peace of mind would be priceless... :)
what do u guys think?

It is not that hard to load a map onto PowerFC with datalogit you know...
When you are going to run load the spray map, when bottle is off load daily driving map.

you can NOT have 2 map's in the PFC at the same time, you have to load one or the other

well...i guess that clears a myth up about it ;)
i'll just get it tuned, take off 2degrees of timing off thw entire map, then drive around safe in the knowledge that i can use nitro wheneber needed :)

You could also get a cheap laptop and keep it in the car for when you want to switch over maps. I have a tablet pc that I use in the car for tuning/etc which I use from time to time if I need to switch/test maps.
Out of curiosity, what if he used the PFC with a J&S Safeguard system along with a colder range of plugs. Would this be enough to leave the PFC map alone?

it would protect the motor, but you might end up loosing a good amount of power if the safeguard is constantly pulling timing when using the juice. Like they said, pull 2 degrees out of the map, the hp loss is negligable. It's not a huge deal. plus if your really looking for that extra 1-2hp, you probably be squeezing at that time ;)

true, but it would be so much more easier to just have it safely set up for nitrous use and normal driving, rather than having to load up the computer in the car at the traffic lights right before a spontaneous race.
also i'm running grade 7 plugs anyway, and wouldnt mind using grade 8, because i dont think we're likely to get too much freezing weather here in the mornings anyway, so starting the car shouldn't be a problem.
