We are going to meet up at the Shell gas station on Sunrise blvd and SW 136 Ave (near sawgrass mills mall)... We WILL BE LEAVING at 5:00pm so if you're planning on coming with us, please be there at 5:00 sharp! We need to get to moroso no later than around 6:00 at the latest, or we won't get to many runs...
As Dan already mentioned, it's $15 to race, $10 to watch, and wear long pants if you're racing...

As much as I would love to go and meet you guys, I can't make it. I don't feel like driving 250+ miles today. I think I might go to Gainesville Raceway. If I do, I will be sure to post my results.

I ran a best of 15.4, but my car was definitely not running right. I couldn't trap out of the 90's no matter what.

Raul's best time was a 14.93 at 93mph I believe with a 2.3 or 2.28 60ft.
My best 60 foot was a 2.33 and I only tapped 90.40mph.

Actually, no, my trap was almost 95 mph (94.67 or something like that) I don't have the slip with me, it's in the car, but I'll scan it and post it later... and my best 60' was a 2.2xx, but with that, I ran the 15 flat, the 14.9s both were with a 2.3 60'... I have no tires, I still have the stock yokohamas with 26K miles, and they are gone...

that was at my best 1/4 mile. i compared my last 1/8th mile slip with my 1/8 from my best 1/4mile slip......are you still with me?....ok well my last 1/8 mile time was better than my fastest 1/4mile times i was 1mph over what i was in the 1/4 mile slip. so i woulda gained another 1-2 mph in the end. woulda been an 88.xxx these are all predictions. but it woulda happend. my runs with the lower trap speed was me launching at 2k. i gained over 1mph by the 1/8 mile by launching at 3200 rpm. higher launch (if you get the power to the ground ie. 2.2) = higher mph. compared to all the other GT's i trap the highest, i dunno why...Still no sign of my header, all signs point to me recieving it this week, we'll see. but next time i go to the track i will have the header and unbolt the exhaust, i should be trapping in the low 90's. i am thinking about deleting the resonator, and replacing the cat with a high flow unit. it shouldnt make my car that loud since it will still have the sideways rear peice along with the hks hiper muffler. it should just be more aggressive sounding. unbolted of coarse it will sound like a wart hog. one of these days this summer i will be down a night when we can all go to moroso. dunno when i will do the exhaust work, or if its worth switchin cats, i may just remove the resonator. anyways i cannot wait till the cold season, i think i have a shot at a 14.9 in the cold with what i will have. it not impossible and i think i have the means to do it. my car may not be a highway racer, or have much balls but i think it can get the job done....
EDIT: you are right raul i went and checked it. i thought it was higher. but my point was i am close to 90. but dans mph isnt what it should be basically.....but well all know that :)

Raul I screwed up on entering the info on the 1/4 mile database. It should read 93.1mph. Either way I was still well below my fastest traps.

Well, an 86mph trap isn't close to 90... I think you're going to need much more than a header to trap in the low 90s...
There is only 2 GT's trapping at about 90 mph, one barely gets a 91.xx (and he has a header and the S-AFC already) and the other one, well, you know how I feel about that one, he doesn't even come close to my trap speed and I ran a 14.9... The rest are trapping at about what you trapped at...

i have one somewhere of me trapping in close to 88mph. i ran a high 15 but my trap was higher.

The civic ran the 14.3, and the other one was an old school mustang (early 90s) which ran a 14.1, I don't know what he had done to that thing though...

huh? did you read the year it was???? those early 5.0s were slow as sh!t dude... r u kidding me? 14.1 was insanely fast for that year... those were about low 15 sec cars (high 14s at their best).

Actually the fox body 5.0's were faster than all of the new stangs up till Ford went to the 260hp 4.6 in 98? A 14.1 isn't really that fast for a fox body stang. With a decent driver, headers, exhaust and intake you could easily hit that number. Especially if it was an LX Coupe.

Actually, the times I posted refer to what is published for that model year, and again, as with any car, those times can vary a lot, but from a high 14 to a low 14, it must have had some work done to it. Stock, it doesn't come close to 14.1.

The new 4.6L Ford engine came out in the 99' model year. That's when they did the new re-designs. As for the 5.0 it'll hit that, if and only if it has some work done to it.

raul knows nothing about 5.0's obvisouly, lol jk. i have seen stock 5.0s turn out a 14.0-.1 a few places in a fox body lx. as a previous owner i can tell you right now its possible. with intake, 2 chamber flow masters, a good tranny, and a good driver can hit a 13.9. the car is light as balls has good trq. i had an 89' it had the best computer in the fox, the 87-88, and 90-93 were rated between 220-225, the 89 had 230-235 stock. mind had some work done to it but never made a track apperance. i was told when i bought it that it had run a 13.8XX it didnt have a whole lot done, close to stock. (wires, cap, coil, steeda clutch, some bypassing, hearst SS, may have had cam, fatty drag radials a few other little things)
the 4.6 actually came out in '96 the 94-95 still had the 5.0 but the intake manifold was rumored to be a little better in the fox body, and the new body was in a heavier car. the 94-95 had 215 stock. they moved to the 4.6 for better fuel economy and something else i forgot but got 220 hp out of it. i would only by another fox if i were to buy another mustang. god i loved that car.

Again boys... a 90 5.0 will not hit 14.1 stock. That was my only comment... modded, sure, anything modded can run whatever you want, but stock, that LX does not run 14.1...
BTW, that mustang I ran, did not look/sound/run stock by any means...

I know when the 4.6 came out, I was refering to the updated 260hp version :D

The obvious mods the Stang had was exhaust and intake. That should put it at a 14.1. It is not going to run that completely stock. Which means not one thing has been changed.
