Gunmetal rims..

Okay guys.

i got stock GTS rims... i really love the way the look... well i saw them gunmetal... and i went nuts..... i want them so bad.. so is there a way i could get my stock aluminm GTS rims to look like this

now how do i go about it

my car is black... with silver painted calipers... dark silver... um... tinted.. trd body kit stock wing

you can buy wheel paint at any auto parts store and just paint them DIY. Or get them powdercoated at a bodyshop.

I did pretty much the same with my wheels, don't have a clear picture of it during day time. I sanded them and sprayed them myself, could use a few more layers. This was pretty much the first time I did it so was just trying it out. Will do a lot better next time ;)

yeah alot of people paint thier stock gts rims, i painted my old 17s gunmetal with duplicolor wheel paint from autozone, its good stuff

I forgot the brand I used, but it's a normal car paint. They had a whole rack full of all different kinds of black you can pick one that suits you. Neither do you have to be talented to do this. You just need a lot of patience, spray very thin layers.

yea you would want to clear coat them to make them look a lil more better, unless you like the flat paint color look

yeah i'v seem them around... i like oem stuff... i rather have a toyota made rims.. well plus i dont want to buy any new rims.. i think i'm going to try painting them..i hope i dont mess it up...

just make sure you paint even strokes and when going back and fourth on the strokes dont hold it in one place too long

Make sure you prep the wheels really good...use multiple layers of primer/paint/clear. Have fun with it and don't get too high...

Wow, finally a color that looks good besides the stock color. Black stock rims don't look good at all IMO.

Haha guess not, but thanks for the compliment. I bought this extra set of OEM wheels to paint and to put my wintertires on, so this is my winterset. I also ordered a new set of wheels which just came in this week. Still have to put tires on the and mount them just to see what it looks like, than back to the winterset.

you should use the one that is made for wheels. casue they will hold up to high temps. you might not be able to use regular spray paint cause they might not hold up to the high heat from breaking. but i can be wrong
