Just getting a general opinion, in the summer a buddy and I plan on making a general podcast for Celica Maintainence and mods, this will be a video podcast of course which we can release on iTunes and other pod trackers, for the newbies a picture walkthrough would be cool but actually seeing it done might be nice too, what are your thoughts let me hear if you think this has some promise or if its a lost cause..

it sounds gay but what the heck...it will probably turn out useful.

Do you intend to turn this into a small business venture or are you doing it solely for the sake of the Celica community? There are well-known resources are out there (newcelica.org included) that offer Celica maintenance and modification advice. Your offering must stand out for it to be utilized. Your ideas don't have to be revolutionary but if you desire to attract a regular audience, there must be something consistently special about it. Sure, you have a new medium (the iPod), but what do you have in your plans that will draw a solid visit stream?

I totally understand that and thank you willy. This is ment purely for the celica community I stand to gain nothing from this. I like the walkthroughs on this site, they are very informational and give good instructions, but sometimes after reading them I am still left with a couple questions, as I know for myself, I learn better from seeing something done, rather than just reading it, and sometimes pictures can't explaine the whole story. I may have jumped the gun when I said podcast, but we will have it tracked by some of the major sites, even if it only helps one or two people that would be ok with me too :)

This is true. Yesterday, my iPod replacement battery arrived with a video and it gave me more installation assistance than what I'd imagine from a series of still shots.
Consider...
1. Why am I doing the project?
2. Who is my target audience?
3. How do I hold my target audience?
4. How much time and resources can I allot to the project?
5. Do I have the passion and time to maintain the project?
6. How do I get the desired results out of the energies I put forth? In other words, are people benefitting from the project?
The work can be satisfying but make sure its not a 'if a tree falls in the forest and no one is around to hear it, does it make a sound' scenario. If you feel its a good idea, prep a quality product, advertise it properly, maintain the quality of the product, establish and maintain a user base and enjoy.
